Web ADI Overview


Web ADI Journal Solution only provides functionality for journal upload Request Center functionality forthcoming in new web-based application Eliminates ADI desktop client PC maintenance Eliminates need for Citrix-type of solution Accessed from the Self-Service menu

Web ADI Requirements


For 11i Users:
Patch #2136261 - WebADI October Release
Patch #2118812 - Diagnostics Wizard Requires Applications Release 11.5.3 running on 8.0.4 database and higher Self-Service for Web Apps 11i Release 5.5D Internet Explorer 5.0 or later Microsoft Excel 97 or 2000 Microsoft Windows 95, 98, ME, NT 4.0 or 2000

Web ADI Requirements


For 11.0.x Users:
Patch #2102709 - WebADI October Release
Patch #2118819 - Diagnostics Wizard Release 11.0.3 running on 8.0.4 DB and higher Self-Service for Web Apps Release 11.0 Oracle 9iAS Release 1.0.2

Internet Explorer 5.0 or later


Microsoft Excel 97 or 2000 Microsoft Windows 95, 98, ME, NT 4.0 or 2000

Web ADI Configuration

Three functions are created to access Web ADI after the installation Add functions to a Self Service responsibility A Self Service responsibility is required for each set of books accessed by Web ADI Create multiple responsibilities to control privileges

Select Web ADI from Self Service responsibilities

Web ADI Functions

This responsibility has access to all three functions Create Document used to create a spredsheet Create ADI Layout used to define the data elements in the journal upload Create ADI Mapping used to define text file profile

Create Layout

Layouts control data elements in the context, header and lines regions of the spreadsheet Update, duplicate, delete or define a new layout

Create Layout

Set placement region and default value for required fields Account, Debit and Credit should always reside in the Line region

Create Mapping Template

Mapping template are used to define profile of the text file containing journal or budget data Number of columns should match the Layout

Create Mapping Template

Select columns contained in the text file List of values button shows all available columns

Create Document

Notice the guide bar on top of page Choose a layout matching your requirements Select standard or custom layouts

Create Document

Select None to create a blank spreadsheet Select Text File to import data from a file

Create Document

The Content option appears when importing a file Select a default or custom mapping template

Create Document

Select Create Document to load datafile and launch Excel

Create Document

Notice WebADI option on Excel menu List of Values pop-up window on Company segment

Upload Journal

Upload Journal option from Excel menu Appears after selecting Parameters option

Monitor Requests

Excel option to Monitor concurrent requests Search criteria allows selecting parameters to control the requests to monitor
