But the manifestation of the Spirit is given to

each one for the profit of all: 8 for to one is
given the word of wisdom through the
Spirit, to another the word of knowledge
through the same Spirit, 9 to another faith
by the same Spirit, to another gifts of
healings by the same Spirit, 10 to another
the working of miracles, to another
prophecy, to another discerning of spirits,
to another different kinds of tongues, to
another the

all these things, distributing to each one
individually as He wills.

The Message
All these gifts have a common origin, but are
handed out one by one by the one Spirit of God.
He decides who gets what, and when.

Testing of the gifts in the church. 1 Cor. 14:29 "let others judge"

1) Does the utterance harmonize with the revealed truth of Scripture?

2) Does it glorify the Lord Jesus Christ?
3) Is the speaker a person of genuine Christian character?

And if thou say in thine heart, How shall we know the word which the
LORD hath not spoken? When a prophet speaketh in the name of the
LORD, if the thing follow not, nor come to pass, that is the thing which the
LORD hath not spoken, but the prophet hath spoken it presumptuously:
thou shalt not be afraid of him. Deuteronomy 18:21-22
