The average Pepsi can contain 40-50% recycled alluminium which is standard across the company The average Pepsi glass bottle also contains at least 25% recycled glass which is also standard across the industry The average Pepsi plastic bottle contains 12% recycled plastic believed to be the highest among soft drink brand Innovation in technology is the threshold in a competitive market therefore PepsiCo comes out with attractive and designed cans

During the 1930s, international expansion began. The Pepsi-Cola trademark was registered in Latin America and the Soviet Union, and franchises were awarded to bottlers in Canada. In 1934, the company moved to a new headquarters in Long Island City, New York Pepsi is a multinational company. It operates in several countries. Pepsi operates in 200 countries and provide with more than 500 beverages and snacks.
ECONOMIC DIMENSIONS
Beverage and snack foods maker PepsiCo India clocked its highest volume growth in a decade- with its beverage business growing over 32% in calendar year 09 India topped beverage volume growth in the Asia ,MidEast and Africa region In the October December quarter too , India was a highest growing market in terms of volume at 21%. The companys portfolio of carbonated and non carbonated brands witnessed robust growth with mountain dew emerging as a fastest growing beverage brand in the industry
Net revenue grew 12%, roughly three times the rate of global GDP growth. Division operating profit grew 10%.* Earnings per share grew 13%.* Total return to shareholders was 26%. Return on invested capital was 29%. Cash flow from operations was $6.9 billion.
Social Responsibility

After the 2005 pesticide controversy, Pepsi Co India changed their strategy towards the market through the OYE BUBBLY and YOUNGISTAAN concepts Advertised Pepsi through stars like Shah Rukh Khan and youth icons like Mahendra Singh Dhoni and Deepika Padukone. The target audience was the youth who could be influenced and persuaded to buy the product Won the confidence of people helped increase its sales all over India. COMPETITORS
Pepsi faces a stiff competition from coke and fights for profits and other resources. Advertisement and marketing plays a major role in getting rid of the competitors. Well designed bottles and Pepsis association with football had attracted more customers and took over a great market share from coke.
