Mobile Communications technologies

Mobile communication allows transmission of voice and multimedia data via a computer or a mobile device without having connected to any physical or fixed link. Mobile communication is evolving day by day and has become a must have for everyone. Mobile communication is the exchange of voice and data using a communication infrastructure at the same time regardless of any physical link. Mobile devices can be enabled to use a variety of communications technologies such as: wireless fidelity (Wi-Fi) - a type of wireless local area network technology Bluetooth - connects mobile devices wirelessly 'third generation' (3G), global system for mobile communications (GSM) and general packet radio service (GPRS) data services - data networking services for mobile phones.

2G TECHNOLOGY
2G Technology is a Second Generation Technology of wireless networking. 2G is an acronym which means "second generation. Second generation (2g) telephone technology is based on GSM or in other words global system for mobile communication. Second generation was launched in Finland by Radiolinja in the year 1991. In the United States operated on the 2G network. 2G phones have greater data transmission capabilities. Analogue was considered the first generation network, and digital the second generation (2G). The current GSM and CDMA networks are examples of 2G networks. ...

Digital systems were embraced by consumers for several reasons. * The lower powered radio signals require less battery power, so phones last much longer between charges, and batteries can be smaller. * The digital voice encoding allowed digital error checking which could increase sound quality by reducing dynamic and lowering the noise floor. * The lower power emissions helped address health concerns. * Going all-digital allowed for the introduction of digital data services, such as SMS and email.

Capacity with increased usage of wireless network, demand increases with capacity for data services. Limited band width 2G support data rates of 9.6-14.4 kbps. Since the radio channels are used to support only voice services, capability of supporting high data rate was limited Limited roaming capabilities Since multiple AIR-Interfaces are used(such as GSM, IS-136) they are not compatible with each other Limited support for packet data As the data communication is intermittent and busty, this lead to inefficient usage of radio and network resources No Multimedia 2G does not support multimedia protocol

3G refers to the third generation of mobile telephony technology. The first commercial 3G network was launched in 2001 in Japan. Among the newest network technology for mobile phones is the 3G network. 3G telephones work on both the GSM and CDMA networks. 3G technology features very fast transmission of the mobile signal. 3G Wide Brand Wireless Network is used with which the clarity increases and gives the perfection as like that of a real conversation. The data rates for the 3G are a minimum of 2Mbps for stationary mobile users and 384Kbps for moving subscribers in downlink.

1. The customers will get a high speed network for their communication which is far better than the 2G technology , particularly in data communication. 2. The customer will get wireless broadband. 3. Customer can see video or satellite based programs like TV programs using this technology. 4. Customers can use all the facilities at same time. 5. It may also be cheap than the other traditional media we are using, as a result of price war.

6. The many in one services will be available at the same network. Due to use of the DTH & the 3G technology, everyone will use this multi-purpose services to avoid time loss and keeping records for different service

1. High costs (the technology and the maintenance are more expensive than the ones in 2G networks, reflecting in higher end-consumer prices) 2. Base stations need to be closer to each other (again more cost). 3. Bigger mobile phones (due to increased power consumption, batteries need to be larger, which makes the whole devices look not very appealing to consumers used to small & slim 2G terminals) 4. many users have experienced problems with 3G connections in certain areas. For example, if you live in an area where the 3G connectivity is officially low (or non-existent), then you will not be able to benefit from its full services

The first thing you require is a device (e.g. a mobile phone) that i 3G compatible. This is where the name 3G phone comes from - a phone that has 3G functionality; nothing to do with the number of cameras or the memory it has. An example is the iPhone 3G. 3G phones commonly have two cameras since the technology allows the user to have video calls, for which a user-facing camera is required for capturing him/her video images. Unlike Wi-Fi, which you can get for free in hotspots, you need to be subscribed to a service provider to get 3G network connectivity. We often call this kind of service a data plan or network plan. In India, you need to take a connection from 3G providers like Airtel, Vodafone, Reliance et.

1. To enhance the mobile communication the GSM specification used is the 2G for voice and 3G communications is used for mobile users to have communication over voice too. 2. The data rate for GSM is 270Kbps and 3G will give you standard speed of 2Mbps for users at one place and 384Kbps to remote and isolated users. 3. To have multiple access technology GSM will use TDMA and FDMA whereas on the other side 3G will use the variations of the CDMA technology combining WCDMA, CDMA2000, CDA2000 1X EV-DO.

Servey on airtel Actual speed of 2g 256 1.5 kbps and actual speed of 3g is 7.2 mbps. In 3g there is no buffering. 3g is more secure than 2g because of high speed internet. In india 3g is first launch in south in madras in jan 2011. Airtel is also supporting idea and vodafone.

Vodafone has won the best service provider of 2011 global award

in rajasthan it has 48 lakhs customer

Vodafone has launch its 3g service in mumbai in june 2011

Vodafone has its service center in 188 countries.

Now days, to make more comfortable, easy, flexible and compact to the electronics systems or computers the continue research is going on. As a result frequently the new technology is being introduced and previous technology becomes outdated. To survive in the world we are forced to adapt these new technology, otherwise we will be far behind than our competitors. As the world is running fast, we have to run with it's speed to save our self. If we are not adapting the new introduced technology, then we can not survive in the fast running world
