Introduction: -

 Who is a customer ?
 Who can become a customer of a Bank?
 Is there any condition to become a customer of a
Bank ?

Definition

 It is easier to recognise a customer than to define


the term customer.
 A customer was defined as “ a person who has
some sort of an account , either or current account ,
or some similar relation with a Baker”.

Customer –Pre- Requisits

 Any one can become a customer of Bank who


attained the age of 18 years.
 The person must have credit worthiness.

 For opening an account with the Bank, either a


savings or current account, the person must be
capable of depositing the prescribed minimum
amount.
 His application must be signed by a customer of the
bank by way of introduction.

Various Types of Special Customers are :


• Minors-The person who has not attained the age of 18
• Lunatics-The person who do not have sound Mind
• Drunkards-The person who is in intoxicated condition
• Married women-The women who got married
• Illiterates-The person who cannot read and write
