Global Warming is a serious crisis right now. Not a lot of people are taking any notice to whats going on around them. People take for granted to the things they have and don't take care of the Earth

. Global Warming is a global issue that involves everything and everyone. The main reason for global warming is something that is called the Greenhouse effect, which is when a gas called CO2 or also known as carbon dioxide is released into the atmosphere and with that the suns rays can't escape causing the Earth to warm up.

One major affect is that natural disasters will worsen such as hurricanes and droughts will become deadly. If people don't react soon and take action the world will suffer. Some things that people are doing are looking for energy substitutes such hydro power and wind power for cleaner energy instead of using fossil fuels.

According to scientists , the increasing amounts of carbondioxide in atmosphere are responsible for rise in Earths temperature. The co2 is a product of burning oil, natural gas, coals etc. Although, climatologists says that greenhouse gases are also adding up to increasing temperature of Earth.

To check the changes in temperature, accurate measurements are required. If it is warming , is there a man-made cause or is it natural fluctuation?. The temperature fluctuations over past years contradicts global warming issue e. g. little ice age. Is co2 only cause for warming.

Recording temperature anomolies is generally accepted procedure. A positive anomoly would represent a months temperature that is above average and negative anomoly indicates temperature less than average Temperature is measured by placing thermometers at various places around the globe.

Another method is through satellite readings, which came into use by late 1970s.

Q: 1 : Use all three temperature anomalies and whichever techniques you wish to determine whether there is global warming. Ans.
year mean of land and sea temperature mean of land temperature anomaly for 12 months anomaly for 12 months

2000
2001 2002 2003 2004 2005 2006

As sea and land temperature anomaly increasing continously therefore global warming is there.

Q: 2 Use a graphical technique to determine whether there is a relationship between temperature anomalies and co2 levels.

360 1 2 3 4 5 6 7 LAND AND SEA TEMPERATURE ANOMALY FOR 12 MONTHS FROM 2000-06

The values of co2 level are increasing continuously over the past years. However, the temperature anomalies are decreasing from 2002-2003 then increasing and again decreasing in 2005-2006. The graph clearly shows there is positive correlation between co2 levels and temperature anomalies.

From case we can also say that temperature of Earth was decreasing during little ice age i.e. middle to the end of 19th century. Then temperature rose until about 1940, at which point it decreased until 1975. During this period co2 levels were increasing.
