First electric locomotives to pull trains circuits, in Indonesia, owned by the dutch east indies government. Started in 1923 and was completed on December 24, 1924.

Electric locomotives are still faithfully serving the users of railway transportation in the area of Jakarta - Bogor. Government of Indonesia since independence have never bought an electric locomotive to replace or increase the number of electric locomotives in operation. But in the end, with the age that has reached half a century, these locomotives are no longer considered adequate and being replaced by a series of new Electricity Rail Trains made in Japan since 1976.

Nowadays, commuter trains for jabotabek area, are used by people who live around this area everyday, there are 2 categories of communter train, commuter with AC and commuter non-AC. With 72 units available everyday, from 5 am until 10 pm.

Indonesian population is increasing every year, and transportation become one of the most complex problem we re facing these days. And commuter trains available, are no longer capable to accommodate all the passengers, this is serious problem that needs to be solved, therefore jakarta need another kind or rail transport.
