PRESENT POSITION OF SWR


The aim of SWR is to validate social work concepts as practiced in Indian settings. Most of the SWs are engaged in social research sociology, social psychology, rural & urban development, management etc. Poor documentation of research works. Not much work is done to validate social work practice in Indian social work settings. No proper body to assess the quality and quantity of SWR as the association is weak.

REASONS FOR LACK OF SWR


Inadequacy of financial assistance Shortage of Research personnel to do SWR Inadequacy of Research facilities few recognized research centers even recognized centers do not concentrate on SWR Load of teaching in the social work institutions Lack of Research incentives Poor research training Non availability of or impotency of professional bodies to insist on the growth of professional knowledge
