AIR
See it ? Feel it !!! Perhaps yes. In terms of cold & hot nature, breezy, dry & humid, clean, fresh, smoky, dusty, smelly, so on and so forth. But it remains a Life Surviving Element, which is the single largest carrier of all living beings along side the pollutants; be it Chemical or Particulate matter!!! Incidentally, it has been carrying light, voice signals or waves (cell phone!!!), making it critical from modern day life

The air that you breathe indoors need not necessarily be pure and thereby safe and actually could pose severe health hazards Whats the quality of air that we breath at home, where one work or even public buildings. Worst fear is if and when one is hospitalised? There may be harmful bio-aerosols airborne biological contaminants Air might consist of bacteria, molds, viruses which are invisible, viable airborne particle, causing infectious diseases

BREATHING AIR
Air being so important element for all living beings on Earth, it is that much more critical to understand this mammoth force, as we breath about 15,000 liters of it everyday; just to extract Oxygen !

MICRO-FLORA IN AIR
Microbes, micron scale life, about 2/3rd of total biomass, remains a potent force to wipe out the so-called macro living beings.

AIR-BORNE DISEASES
Air, thus carries (and allows breeding on a given surface), these very microbes which in turn spreads innumerable Air Borne diseases; viz. Respiratory tract related, Cardio-vascular, Cancer and many more

Old practice of taking a complete bath after returning from hospital visit Kids are strictly advised not to visit Hospitals Doctors wearing mask and gloves before checking patients, leave alone conducting operation All equipments and surgery Instruments are thoroughly disinfected
Largely the infectious diseases are classified as : Exogenous & Endogenous

Factors most consistently associated with an increased incidence of postoperative infections are:
Over 60 years of age Pre-operative stay in hospital Long duration of the surgical procedure Pre-existing infection at the site of the wound

OT and ICU are among the most sensitive areas, resulting into nosocomial infection with resistant strains of pathogens causing havoc among the old, debilitated patients as well as patients with chronic illness
It has increased the morbidity and mortality among those patients admitted to the ICU's, Burn units and Ophthalmic units Post operative infection - leading cause in developing countries This potential cross contamination nosocomial infections are to be eliminated and

Follow strong vigil on good Hygiene Proper vaccination; including for newer EIDs or HAD Start medication when the preventive measures have not yielded results
CDC :
Disinfection and Sterilization are essential for ensuring that medical and surgical instruments do not transmit infectious pathogens to patients.

EEC
A study by ECDPC, reveals that 400,000 of Resistant Infections occurs every year, resulting in the death of 25000 citizens Govt. has to spend in excess of Euro 1.5 b in treating the diseases, which are prolonged and not easily curable 88000 people died in more than 10 years, by HAD This is despite good awareness and basic knowledge of complete hygiene that exists, when one compares it with developing country like ours ! This has lead to the conclusion that AMR is one of the deadliest situation in medical history and hence WHO declared 2011, a year with special focus all possible preventive measures to fight AMR

How can we control this menace of infectious diseases, that is spreading at a alarming rate, resulting in loss of lives
Altimate is pleased to introduce the technology in Indian market that is being studied extensively by USDA, USFDA, EPA and NASA; among some of the highest reputed institutes of the developed world This IV Generation technology entails PCO on a base of NANO TiO2, and all it needs is the source of light to be SELF Active

Strong oxidation on Catalytic TiO2 surface, attacks on Cell Wall, Membrane and the very Component.During Sterilization process, CoA inside the cell gets oxidised and the CoA looses its actvity, ceasing the respiration of the cell, itself. Thus, the content of CoA decreases and the CoA dimmer, increases.

a)
Formation of Super Oxide Anion On absorption of light, TiO2 a semiconductor, absorbs Photons and energizes the conduction band and forms pair of holes and electrons. Electrons, further dissolves water and forms Super Oxide Anion, whereas Holes are forming hydroxyl ions

Hydroxyl Radicals, thus formed, acts as a strong Oxidising agent (even stronger to Ozone), is able to reach the nooks and corner of the enclosed space, where none of the traditional sterilization methods would have penetrated, to this extent

SYNOPSIS
We have seen that the NANO TiO2 coating is able to PROVIDE HEALTHY AIR. illuminating the Bio load in the enclosed space And alongside it is also tackling Chemical load in the form of VOCs (other organic pollutants and smoke) We thus prove to have successfully monitored the Indoor Air Quality - - - IAQ, in totality and more importantly maintaining the same on continuous basis.
RECOMMENDATION
OSHA
states that, The most effective way to prevent or lessen the transmission of nosocomial infection (hospital acquired) is to isolate the airborne contaminant and to provide an environment that will promote reduced exposure to contaminant
to strengthen infection control measure to reduce the burden of existing communicable diseases and also to combat EIDs on prevention principle
