E-Government in Vietnam
E Govt. is a unique platform in Vietnam to improve IT application and E-Govt. for state bodies in Vietnam Aims to provide a comprehensive and advanced fully integrated eGovt. Program to cater its citizen needs National Projects and programs focus on providing online information and public services making it more transparent and providing better services for people and business

Overview of ICT industry in Vietnam ICT industry has grown speedy in the last 5 years. IT Vietnam
industry revenue reached $3.7 billion in 2010, which include: Telecom industry $ 3.37 bn Software industry - $ 498 m Digital content industry - $ 180 m

E-Custom Project
Initiated in 2002 Pilot project was launched in 2005 for 34 companies Aimed at utilizing the e-government to enhance the competitiveness of the business sector of Vietnam. Objective of the project : Simplify the procedures speed up the time needed for shipment of exported and imported goods The implementation has been slow and not well coordinated

Challenges faced during the project: Vision and will of the leadership Competence and eagerness of businesses in moving to e-custom The Custom department lacked capable IT experts Awareness of all involved people, from the custom to businesses and related organization is still very limited
