Workspace Filter Manager Report Registry File Load Wizard Snapshot Manager Replay Controls DB File Explorer Rules Manager
Directory structure can be used directly to load files (essentially the same happens when using the front end file load but is done via RANOPT)
2lnpc200106gln038.dt1
Files from specific network and particular equipment type dragged and dropped in in folder for loading
out dir - files moved here once loaded successfully err dir files moved here if NOT loaded successfully
If Automatic Network Detection has been enabled, files can be dropped in Imports dir as well
Once the steps in the file load wizard have been completed or from dragging and dropping the log file into the directories defined, progress can be viewed as follows:
Parser being used, version and file size Measurements from multiple devices split into individual files UE/Scanner type used, datasets being saved etc. displayed
Errors/warnings will be displayed here and is also saved into the Message Log
Note: Windows server 20003 - the server and clients need to be on same domain for file load progress to be seen on clients

DB Explorer
DB explorer can be used to see all the files that have been loaded into the DB and obtain information regarding the file. It also be used to delete files out of the DB The Load Progress Monitor allows viewing of the file load progress
When DB explorer first opened users will be prompted to provide RANOPT server details.
Filter Manger
Opens Filter manager Module used to create and store Filters for analysis
Additional filtering provided tabs for used Main listed - file selection, manipulation and association of cells
Refresh will reduce the logfiles displayed depending on the filtering options selected
Create a snapshot from the Tools menu Right click on filter manager to make either a folder or filter Select Create Filter to open the Filter Criteria Select log files, snapshot, data manipulation, polygon filtering or equipment types from this pane More filtering options are available when expanding the arrow at the bottom of the filter criteria window Click OK to build filter based upon selections Click Yes to apply filter when alerted Filter application progress will be shown via message window Analyse with summary report or 2D view replay
Options to use All sites, static filters in project or polygon selection of sites
Snapshot Manager
The Snapshot manager can also be opened from within the filter creation module in order to create a snapshot if not already done
Right clicking a to see further options and to view the data in the snapshot
Right clicking on the empty space in the Filter Manager gives the following options
Right clicking on a filter in the Filter Manager gives the following options
Use to Creating new filters/folders Option to use the extends of the 2D view to filter the data . The 2D view extents are used as a polygon
RANOPT Training Jan 07
Right click and choosing create filter on and existing filter opens a new Filter creation modules with the filter settings taken as a template
Right clicking opens Filter Criteria Wizard to create new filter selection
Selection/Filtering of measurement data via Filter Criteria Filter data based on:
Date/Time Technology Polygon/Region
Data Manipulation:
Binning (see slide Binning Techniques )
- Rules Editor)
Filters based on selection site filters created from other Enterprise modules Cell database snapshots association (see slide Filter Manager- Snapshot Manager)
Clicking OK on the Filter Criteria Wizard Choosing Apply - Applies (selects) the required data and provides a progress bar. Analysis can begin following this
Scanner and Voice Summary reports can also be accessed via the Filter Manager along with the other reports
The workspace contains all currently analysed filters. Up to 5 filters can be added to the workspace simultaneously, A maximum of two filters in the workspace can be made active. When a filter is active it becomes the currently replayed filter and dictates the synchronisation to the other active filter.
The comma separated Map Text module and point map module can be offset from one another on the map.
Displaying the route on the GIS display Ec, Ec/Io, Rx Lev, Rx Qual etc. by selecting the relevant Checking the events and displaying site, routes etc
Query Variables tab: Allows editing of various parameter and threshold settings
Bar Chart modules can show multiple graphs tiled either horizontally or vertically. Colour coding of cells can be defined as required. Synchronised with all other modules/views
Table View module shows historic data across the entire route. It has selectable columns, and can be setup so that the background colour scheme matches colours used elsewhere in the tool. The table is synchronised with all other views and can be exported as a comma delimited text file.
Instantaneous grid windows show data for the current time. Synchronised with all other views. The colour scheme is defined globally from the report registry.
The Line Chart modules can display multiple signals on the same graph.
An instantaneous grid view shows additional values at the current replay position This example shows Ec and Ec/Io on the line chart and SIR and Ec/Io on the grid.
Signalling/Message Analysis
All filters that are included in the workspace can be viewed and replayed
L3 message view - RRC and NAS messages displayed. Will incorporate Vendor messaging from V6.0
Message decoded automatically while replaying a filter, or manually by double clicking on the header.
R&S specific messaging currently supported via separate window. Other vendor specific messaging will be done via similar windows

Further table/grid view on graph, also for parameters not shown on the graph Map view display - see what your radio performance and problems are
E.g.: Route is coloured according to best SC detected. The sectors also need to reflect the the SC colours
Cell colour icons on the toolbar allows a parameter to be selected for which the cell colouring can be based on. It possible to select colouring for both GSM and WCDMA cells simultaneously
On the Auto-Range Setting, in the specify field, choose RANOPT Cell Site Colouring from the drop down list

Scanner Summary Report aids analysis for coverage issues, boomers/pilot pollution, poor dominance, crossed feeders and helps identify missing neighbours. Further details on the report can be found on slide: Scanner Summary Report
Provides KPIs Provides SC stats
Scanner coverage statistics generated Identifies dead cells in the planning Evaluates booming cells that are not detected database and pilot polluters
Dominance and Pilot Pollution analysis Evaluates swapped feeders and signal reflections
Adjacencies
Excessive Adjacencies
Identification of Boomers/XFeeders
Database Update
A number of worksheets provides data for NBR analysis, details can be found on slide : Neighbour Analyser Report
A number of worksheets provide data for NBR analysis, details can be found on slide : Neighbour Analyser Report
Shows neighbour plan for each cell for more focussed analysis
The report has a number of worksheets which provide data for analysis and trouble shooting. Details are provided on the slide: Data Summary Report Provides KPIs
Statistics for throughput. Benchmark levels can be set to show up statistics where the required standard is not met.
Shows data KPI statistics - the number of attempts, successes and failures at Time on each data session. Analysis different stages of aTechnology can be base on L3 messages or vendor messages.
Enabling Update 2D View - the report will move the replay location on the 2D view to where the event occurred. This allows further analysis of the measurements and messages around the event.
Expand sessions to drilldown to the problems. Text marked in red if there is a problem in a session. Clicking the L3 link jumps to the corresponding location in the L3 analysis for the event
Failures shown with red highlighting. Click on the failure and more details are obtained
The report summarises all the events broken down by each technology
Shows timing and duration information and can be compared with user-defined benchmark levels.
These events have been found by analysing the L3 messages. These often give different information to the vendor messages as the phone can try to make a connection but nothing is seen on L3. By clicking on the event in the table the report will show the L3 messages in detail at the time of the event
Measurements can be displayed at the time of each message Which parameters are shown is configurable
L3 messages displayed and subset of messages that are displayed being user definable. All messages can be shown if required. also indicates the technology The report
being used by the mobile at the location of each event.
All default parameters on reports can be edited from here Click to enter edit mode
Benchmarking
Select multiple filters in order to run Benchmark reports, Only reports that support benchmarking are available in the menu
RANOPT Reporting
Use of reports for detailed analysis with replay integration Voice Summary report examines calls, events and causes Data Summary report analyses data calls, events and causes Scanner Summary report checks for bad coverage, booming cells or missing neighbours Neighbour analyser to examine neighbours for each cell Distribution reports summarise measurements and provide trending and benchmarking Measurements vs. Predictions report analyses Asset arrays with drive test measurement data
Maps Scanner file lat/lons to UE files based on time in the event that the UE file does not have positional info Creates Rules to manipulate the data
Creates offsets for cases where the plotted route of the drive data does not overlap with the map data due to coordinate variances
Creates a template to export out data UMTS scanner only. Use Table View for others
Site/Cell snapshot taken from planning/optimisation DB at time drives done and stored in RANOPT.
Scheduler
Schedules activities done out of hours, once off or at regular periods i.e.- daily, weekly, monthly e.g:
