Data Load via Dragging and Dropping Files to in dir

Directory structure can be used directly to load files (essentially the same happens when using the front end file load but is done via RANOPT)

2lnpc200106gln038.dt1

Files from specific network and particular equipment type dragged and dropped in in folder for loading

out dir - files moved here once loaded successfully err dir files moved here if NOT loaded successfully

If Automatic Network Detection has been enabled, files can be dropped in Imports dir as well

RANOPT Training Jan 07 3 Copyright 2004 AIRCOM International

Data Loading- viewing via DB Explorer or via File Load Wizard

Once the steps in the file load wizard have been completed or from dragging and dropping the log file into the directories defined, progress can be viewed as follows:

Files Parsing and loading progress

Parser being used, version and file size Measurements from multiple devices split into individual files UE/Scanner type used, datasets being saved etc. displayed

Errors/warnings will be displayed here and is also saved into the Message Log
Note: Windows server 20003 - the server and clients need to be on same domain for file load progress to be seen on clients
RANOPT Training Jan 07 4 Copyright 2004 AIRCOM International

DB Explorer

DB explorer can be used to see all the files that have been loaded into the DB and obtain information regarding the file. It also be used to delete files out of the DB The Load Progress Monitor allows viewing of the file load progress

When DB explorer first opened users will be prompted to provide RANOPT server details.

Why Use Filters?

Filters provide a method of displaying and analysing data:
Used to string multiple log files together To compare scanner and handset measurements

To filter out (exclude) results by threshold or anomalies

To bin data by time, distance or grid To analyse specific scrambling codes, BSIC/BCCHs, networks or polygons.

Can save the modified log file(s) to use later

Allows grouping of similar log files for easy retrieval using Windows style folders Can share filters with other users by making

them public filters

Log files are provided to the user immediately

Additional sliding menu provides more involved logfile processing as required

Steps to make a Filter and Start Analysis

Create a snapshot from the Tools menu Right click on filter manager to make either a folder or filter Select Create Filter to open the Filter Criteria Select log files, snapshot, data manipulation, polygon filtering or equipment types from this pane More filtering options are available when expanding the arrow at the bottom of the filter criteria window Click OK to build filter based upon selections Click Yes to apply filter when alerted Filter application progress will be shown via message window Analyse with summary report or 2D view replay

Filter Manager Create Cell snapshots

Create a Cell Snapshot - From the Filter manager, select Tools -> Snapshot Manager
Before selecting data for analysis, you will need to create a cell snapshot. The cell snapshot taken from the planning or optimisation DB is to ensure drive data is matched to the cell configuration of the network at the time the drives were done.

Using the Workspace

The workspace contains all currently analysed filters. Up to 5 filters can be added to the workspace simultaneously, A maximum of two filters in the workspace can be made active. When a filter is active it becomes the currently replayed filter and dictates the synchronisation to the other active filter.

Two types of modules are available on the map view. The first for showing points coloured by attributes on the 2D view and the second for plotting text. The Data Types tab is used to select the parameter for display

The comma separated Map Text module and point map module can be offset from one another on the map.

Bar Chart modules can show multiple graphs tiled either horizontally or vertically. Colour coding of cells can be defined as required. Synchronised with all other modules/views

Table View module shows historic data across the entire route. It has selectable columns, and can be setup so that the background colour scheme matches colours used elsewhere in the tool. The table is synchronised with all other views and can be exported as a comma delimited text file.

RANOPT Training Jan 07 24 Copyright 2004 AIRCOM International

Grid and Line Chart Modules

Instantaneous grid windows show data for the current time. Synchronised with all other views. The colour scheme is defined globally from the report registry.

The Line Chart modules can display multiple signals on the same graph.

An instantaneous grid view shows additional values at the current replay position This example shows Ec and Ec/Io on the line chart and SIR and Ec/Io on the grid.
