THE PROCESS OF WRITING IS AN I N T E R AC T I V E

The evolving product therefore does not belong solety to the person who produced, it rather, it belongs in varying degrees to all influences contributing to its development and to the reader who ultimately determines its meaning on a personal level. Thus the product truly reflects a communal effort.

Students need to begin the writing process with a certain amount of confidence, which can come in part from their exposure to versions of the language experience approach. The writing itself can be very subjective ( letters to pen pal, journals, simple poetry) or objective (Charts, maps , compositions) It is generally best to begin with shorts pieces of writing before

proceeding to longer ones.

THE WRITING PROCESS ITSELF INVOLVES

Brainstorming . Gathering information. Allowing that information to settle into some sort of overall plan. Putting the words down on paper. Consulting with others again. Revising.

Students need time to reshape the writing to better communicate what was intended or to move in other directions . Dialoguing with other writes, especially peers, can generate great deal of enthusiasm for the writing process and can motivate thoughts feelings that might otherwise remain unexplored.

Modeling allows to student to experience vicariously the frustrations and joys that go into writing . For example Watching the teacher developed paragraph on the boar can be highly motivating as well as instructive. If the teacher does his or her thinking out loud during the process , the students will be more fully realize that even the teacher may even

want to share precious efforts of writing .

Critical literacy goes beyond more tolerance and celebration of differences. At its best, it includes multiple literacies and points to ways in which marginalized groups in a given society may gain influence, students need to use the acts of reading and writing to gain a better understanding of their own lives and situations and how they can work to make them better.
