E-DCH Physical Uplink Channel

One or more E-PUCH are used to carry the uplink E-DCH transport channel and associated control information (EUCCH)in each E-DCH TTI. In a timeslot designated by UTRAN for E-PUCH. UE can transmit only one E-PUCH.
E-PUCH data burst with E-UCCH/TPC

E-PUCH data burst without E-UCCH/TPC

SF could be 1,2,8,4,16 . indicated by CRRI on E-AGCH UEs that shall transmit on the E-PUCH are selected by higher layers. The UE id on the associated E-AGCH shall be used for identification. E-PUCH may use QPSK or 16QAM modulation

E-UCCH
carries uplink control information associated with the E-DCH It is mapped to the data field of the E-PUCH One instance of E-UCCH is of length 32 physical channel bits spread at SF appointed by CRRI uses QPSK modulation When E-PUCH does not contain E-UCCH, TPC is not transmitted There shall be at least one E-UCCH and TPC in every E-DCH TTI E-UCCH carried following information The modulation type of the selected E-TFC 0 bits The transport block size of the selected E-TFC 6 bits RSN : used to convey the uplink HARQ transmission number 2 bits HARQ Process Identifier : selected by the UE and identifies the HARQ process for which the MAC-e PDU is being transmitted/retransmitted 2 bits

E-UCCH

E-RUCCH
The E-RUCCH is used to carry E-DCH-associated uplink control signaling when E-PUCH resources are not available It shall be mapped to the same random access physical resources defined by UTRAN The E-RUCCH uses spreading factor SF=16 or SF=8

E-AGCH
It carries the uplink E-DCH absolute grant control information. The E-AGCH uses two separate physical channels (E-AGCH1 and E-AGCH2). SF=16

E-AGCH2 burst structure

E-AGCH
23-26 bit information bit in E-AGCH The following information will be conveyed in an absolute grant message: - Absolute Grant Value maximum power granted per resource unit (per slot) 5 bits - The physical resources to be used for transmission - Code resource related information(CRRI) 5 bits channelization code,SF - Timeslots(TRRI) 5 bits (LSB lowest Time slot ,MSB heighest time slot) TS1 to TS5 slots - Resource Duration (optional) 3bits - E-AGCH Cyclic Sequence Number (ECSN) 3 bits - E-HICH Indicator(EI) 2 bits (used to indicate which E-HICH will convey the acknowledgement indicator for the scheduled Ues) - E-UCCH Number Indicator (ENI) 3 bits MSB LSB - Pg crri trri rd ECSN EI ENI (5 bit) (5 bits) (5 bits) (3 bits) ( 3bits) ( 2 bits ) (3 bits)

E-HICH
E-DCH HARQ Acknowledgement indicator channel SF is 16 The E-HICH carries one or multiple users acknowledgement indicator For Scheduled transmissions, at most four E-HICHs can be configured for one users scheduled transmission For Non-Scheduled transmissions, E-HICHs carry not only the HARQ acknowledgement indicators but also TPC and SS commands E-HICH Structure

E-HICH
ACK/NACK information : 1 bit (ACK /NACK) A HARQ acknowledgement indicator is mapped to one of 240 signature sequences of length 240 bits and represented by the bit sequence bh0, bh1, , bh239 for the hth acknowledgement indicator

For scheduled transmissions, E-HICHs carry HARQ acknowledgement indica For Non-Scheduled transmissions, E-HICHs carry HARQ acknowledgement indicators and TPC/SS commandstors only

UL Scheduling Information
23 information bits This control information is used by UEs to indicate to the Node B the amount of resources they require Scheduling Information is sent via the E-PUCH in the MAC-e header when the UE is granted resource and by the E-RUCCH when no resource has been granted Scheduling Information consists of three components - Buffer information - Highest priority Logical Channel (HLID) 4 bits - Total E-DCH Buffer Status (TEBS) 5 bits - Highest priority Logical channel Buffer Status (HLBS) 4 bits - UE Power Headroom (UPH): 5 bits - Serving and Neighbour Cell Pathloss (SNPL) 5 bits
