Problems in Implementation- I
Massive lack of awareness of the scheme even some government officials dont know much about the scheme Lack of flexibility of work actual village needs and work allotted differ Lack of transparency and proper monitoring of funds allotment and job completion Lack of facilities only drinking water is available at most of the sites
Problems in Implementation - II
Panchayat initiated projects are not implemented due to long procedure of technical clearance from state government Low manpower to monitor the implementation of projects 1 engineer is supposed to handle many districts each consisting of many panchayats
Corruption is still a deep-rooted problem in Lauriya district due to poor monitoring of allocation of funds
Suggestions
Creating awareness through large scale campaigns - both through electronic media and educational programmes Effective allocation of funds which should be monitored and reported Flexibility and empowering individual panchayats to implement in areas according to particular village need More technical support to the panchayats . The entire block Lauriya has only 1 computer
Suggestions - II
Strict monitoring of implementation avg. wages paid(Rs. 60-70) is below the minimum wage level Create a special task force to monitor fund allocation. Train officials in each Panchayat to implement the project
