On June 4th 1989,poland entered a new epoch.

On that day for the first time in the communist bloc, the democratic opposition won what was virtually a free election. Two months later a non-communist government was formed. The whole of Central and Eastern Europe started waking up frm this historical torpor. The communist foundations has been shattered by the Solidarity movement and its leader ,Lech Walesa, who was awarded the nobel prize.

Polish scientists are patenting global

industrial production of graphene, a miraculous material that is set revolutionise electronics. With better conductivity than copper it is one hundred times stronger than steel. Graphene was invented at the Institute of Materials Technology (ITME) in Warsaw.
