We have a highly experienced senior management team capable of ensuring that the bank becomes and remains one of the top performing financial institutions in Pakistan. We are listed on all three bourses of the country namely Karachi, Lahore, and Islamabad. The bank has a network of twenty eight (28) branches, eleven located in Karachi, eight in Lahore, four in Islamabad, and one each in Peshawar, Sialkot, Multan, Gujranwala and Faisalabad.

Someone who participate in the management process by planning , organizing , leading or controlling the organization resources. Managers perform management in organizations.

A leader is considered to be someone with vision and ability to articulate that vision to the team, so vividly and powerfully that it becomes their vision. Or a leader is someone who brings to the situation a clear and compelling sense of the future as well as an understanding of the actions needed to get there successfully.

There are many differences between managers and leaders. The manager administrates, which means that managers do work which is related to administration like how to solve administrative problems
While leaders creates innovative idea like what new innovation can prevent administration having problems.

Leader is more important than the manager. Leaders have the edge of influencing people which makes work easy and efficient. Leaders can make decisions while the manager implements those decisions in his organizations. Manager can not make risky decisions because he dont owns the company he is just leading the branch.

Managers relationship with the workers is based on power, position e.g. if manager has power and position he will be able to co-ordinate with them.

Leaders relationship with the workers is based on his personal powers and skills regarding of any position.

Managers need to have certain qualities in order to survive in an organization. while leader are mostly born with these leadership qualities or those qualities are developed in those leaders by time.

Knowledge: The manager should have thorough knowledge regarding his business objectives, business plan and business policies so that when needed can be implemented properly Commitment: A manager should be fully committed to the success of the project. Manager holds the vision and moves the team closer to the end result.

Flexibility & Versatility: are valuable qualities in a manager. Beneath the versatility and flexibility is an ability to be both nonreactive and non - attached of how things has to be. Discipline: A manager keeps the envoirment in an organization well disciplined.
Focus/Personal Ambition: are those qualties keeps a manager motivated.

Assertiveness: It is the ability to clearly state what


one expects so that there will be no misunderstanding, a leader must be assertive to get the desired results.

Listening to others opinion: It means being able to


listen to all the new ideas even if they dont go with the usual way of thinking. Opinion brings mutual respect and trust between leader and followers and also keeps the team well supplied with further ideas which further enhance leader vision.

It is obvious that a manager has limited power and he has to keep up with the policies rather than to make them. So a leader develops the long-term loan plans because he has certain power and vision. While the short-term business plans are prepared by managers because they are involved directly in the business and they are into every workers and they know what the workers can achieve in short-term period. So a manager develops a better short-term plans.

A leader can always be a manager because a person who is leader has both qualities of a leader and of a manager. E.g. A leader creats innovative idea but also work on idea which are putted before him by someone else. A leader can direct workers how to work efficiently but he can also guide and carry workers for the success. But a manager cannot always be a good leader because he may not have those skills and qualities of a good leader. E.g. a manager may be very strict about workers following the rules and regulation but may not have the strength qualities of making new idea regarding policies. A good manager can be a good leader who have those skills and attributes associated with him.

Organizing the workers is totally a different thing than developing the plans. Both leader and manager can be a good organizer, but their style may be different of organizing. A leader can command an organization and thats how he can organize it . while a manager may know the qualities of workers, policies of business and keeping all these points in mind he can organize his organization.

According to the manager (Nabeel Anjum) I have been working in the Samba Bank for last 10 years. I am supervising manager and I found my leader and manager in same person. He is very good qualities of both leader and manager. He can lead as well as guide us in trouble situation. He helps us out in the problem and sometime he gives us ideas and ways; how to get out of that trouble.
