those experience that will assist learner in attaining the goal of curriculum

The curriculum development is an outgoing activity, It should be according to the need of changing society i.e there is always time to time improvement in general education changes in traditional customs, advance in medical services, research in nursing and increasing availability of resources, All these changes have an effect on nursing education so periodic evaluation and notification of the curriculum are essential,if the program is offered by school or college to keep move with all these development .

PLANNING A) Formulating the statement of philosophy of school or college or university


Statement of philosophy will be found in the college university and school. These philosophy is expressed in different ways as the quality of education, selection of teacher and student attitude towards the human life and the integrity of individual administrator and teachers

DEFINITION It is written statement of the believes, values, attitude and ideas which faculty as a group agree in relation to the nursing educational programme

We teaching staff of GCON believe that the basic course in nursing is a formal educational preparation which should be based on sound educational principles. we recognize it as the foundation on which the practice of nursing is built, we also believe that we have a responsibility to the student and to society to make provision in the program for continued development of the student as an individual an citizen as well as a good nurse

School should have system of administration There should be available of staff an student ratio Curriculum based on philosophy and objective Selection of students should be consist of school policy There should be adequate physical facilities Hostel should be provided with facilities Provide teaching opportunities and learning facilities

While determining the objectives following factors should be considered. 1. statement of philosophy 2. health need of society 3. kind of student and education program 4. Role of a nurse in the society 5. Teaching , physical and clinical facilities available

Students are able to-: 1.include principles of management in caring for patient 2.Implementing comprehensive care 3.Analyse individual and family response to the health teaching 4.Performed standered nursing procedure 5.Assess care plan, implement and evaluate them. 6.Appraise the effectiveness of nursing care through nursing process

7. Evaluate individual progress towards achieving his development 8.Utilize opportunities and resources for personal and professional growth. 9. Formulate personal role in professional and community activities.

DIRECT LEARNING INCLUDE Urine test for sugar and albumin Conducting physical examination of the client Performing nursing procedures Handling different type of instrument Constructing models, charts , diagrams Handling the machines like ventilators, infusion pumps, E.C.G. etc.

Reading books journal description Listening lectures and talks Observing pictures, photos, maps, charts and model etc.

The learning experience should be directly related to the behavioural objective Learning experience should allow the to practice.(taking temperature) Learning experience should satisfy the psychological need of learner. The learning experiences should be appropriate to the maturity level of learner. Learning experience should related to life situation Learning experience should be reinforced

Novel experience also will ensure that student are not bored. The learning experience should be related to the availability of materials.

Home visit, community visit, school, college hospital etc.

Actual conduction of teaching and learning activities should be learner centered. Conducting practical sessions Refining teaching learning methods Assessment of students performance Students guidance and counseling services Health services Curriculum committee meeting necessary action

Periodic assessment of the students progress is needed through out the program to guide the individual development and to assess the effectiveness of the curriculum on the entire class Evaluation device assess the the particular aspect of the area e.g. if the objective requires the demonstration of a manual skill, observation method is used.

2. Evaluation instrument should measure the degree to which the student has achieved the objective. 3. Evaluation can be the learning experience for the student. 4. If the student know the strength and weakness she can focus her attaintion on the that particular area. 5. Student should understand the purposes of evaluation.
