Best Teaching Experience

My best teaching experience would have to be the day my master teacher was absent and there was a sub. This was my best teaching experience because I got to experience what it was like to be a teacher.

Heather Ragan

Strategies Learned
Connecting the sharing literature story to a journal topic * Modeled Sentence Writing * Using a puppet to keep students attention and focus My master teacher taught me tons and tons of different strategies
Heather Ragan

Teaching Tips
Have students put head down to correct behavior * Using two colored when writing on the board or easel to help students focus Encourage good behavior * Give students assigned spots on the carpet Remind students of rules when needed * Be positive with the students
Heather Ragan

More Teaching TIPS

Allow students to choose activities if they follow directions * Dont allow students to follow you around the classroom Stop whole class to redirect behavior if needed * Give students a break to keep their attention Pace lessons so you dont lose students focus * The more you make things personal the better they will learn and connect to things
Heather Ragan

More, More Teaching Tips

* Explain what their activity is before bringing them in so they know what to do and can do it right away Change things up from time to time to keep children from getting board * Allow students the chance their mistakes Change centers weekly and daily so that the students dont get board of doing the same thing Use different voices when reading * With units have books to go with that units My master teacher taught me many different tips
