WHO WOULD THE AUDIENCE BE FOR YOUR MEDIA PRODUCT?

 Our film is aimed at people between the ages of15 24 as we didnt consider the films content to be suitable for anyone below the age of 15.Generally in horror films the protagonists are also within this age range so people of a similar age to them would be able to relate more to the

character and feel more involved with the film as it progresses. Mainstream horror genre films usually appeal to people of this age range due to the content and the appeal of experiencing fear or thrills from the cinematic experience

 The idea of experiencing a thrill from the films content would appeal to people within this demographic and

would attract many young people but also put off very young children or the older generation who might enjoy content more suited to their age and lifestyle such as drama or comedy. Our film appeals to both men and women but as one of the main characters is a teenage girl, teenagers may feel like they can relate to her more. Younger people will also be able to empathize with the Zander and experience fear for him. I feel our plot would encourage this target audience to watch the film as it relates to the horror genre but also the subgenre of the psychological thriller, giving it more depth and making it more interesting to watch

 In my opinion, this film is targeted towards the majority

audience of teenagers and young adults, based on the fact that the characters would appeal to people of this age as they are able to easily relate themselves with them. Based on the characters behaviour, wardrobe and interests the audience will be able to further relate themselves in a way that encourages them to feel like part of the plot. Through our choice of domestic location the audience is able to connect to what they are watching as they are familiar with the surroundings. The location also makes the audience feel more on edge because they are used to feeling safe at home, but now they have to question this

 I did some research to find out what our target audience should be. I asked 30 people between the ages of 15 and 46 what their favourite genre of film was:

The results of my questionnaire showed that the horror genre is most popular among the range of

people I asked. I also found out that the demographic 15 - 25 most preferred the horror genre over any other genre.

 To find out whether girls or boys are more likely to

watch our film, I asked 30 people within our target age demographic what their favourite genre of film was:

I found that males prefer the genre of horror to females, and so they are more likely to watch our horror film. However, I also found that out of all the girls I asked, the horror genre was most popular among them, so we are likely to get both males and females to come and see our film.
