ConnectEMC A New Animal

Simplify and standardize event file transport To be included in all product releases Existing configurations not affected Robust, platform-independent method of sending error
and history information The ConnectEMC engine consists of a service which runs on the service processor independently of any host application. Client applications register with ConnectEMC to set up and execute file and message transfer

Windows Microsoft Windows 2000, Windows 2003 Currently Symmetrix and Clariion GUI and CLI operation Linux Centera Linux 1.5 CLI only GUI planned for future release

The ConnectEMC GUI Overview

The GUI provides for: Three user levels defined with login Viewing and editing of Site Information settings Viewing of recent and current file transport and message status and activity Capability to customize application for unique site conditions (High user level) Debug (Engineering level)

Logging In Logging Out

Prompts to log-in occur automatically Logout is automatic when you close the GUI
Logging in 1. Select Action, Login from the Menu Bar to open the Login dialog box 2. Click inside the User Name box to bring it into focus 3. Enter your user name 4. Click OK Logging out 1. Select Action, Logout from the Menu Bar
You will be prompted for unsaved changes

To start the GUI Double-click the GUI icon on the desktop, or Double-click the ConnectEMCGUI executable in the ConnectEMC home directory

Restore the default GUI Splitter toolbar buttons. Pressing an icon alters the GUI in that manner ALL Test in sequence each current record in the Connection List. TEST the current ConnectEMC configuration sequence INFO View the info Pane. Stop or Resume the ConnectEMC data transfer Stop, Run, register the GUI buttons are available when the Status View is active

Primary Connections
If you have configured multiple Primary Connections for one
Connect Type ConnectEMC will continue to call home until both Connections have completed successfully You will be prompted if you attempt to create two Primary Connections for a single Connect Type

Connection order may modified by right-clicking a
connection and choosing Move Up or Move Down from the context menu

The Status of In Process is the indication that the test call is executed
