Since the Philippines first resolved to adopt the MDGs, it has made encouraging strides, particularly towards the attainment of targets on reducing extreme poverty; child mortality; the incidence of HIV/AIDS, tuberculosis and malaria; on improving gender equality in education; and improving households' adequate dietary intake as well as access to safe drinking water.

MMR is defined as the number of maternal deaths per 100,000 live births. The indicator on maternal health status is disturbing. Based on data from the 1993 and 1998 National Demographic and Health Survey (NDHS), MMR went down to 172 deaths from a 1993 baseline figure of 209 deaths. In 2006, based on the FPS, it declined to only 162 deaths. Though the decline continued, it was at a sharply diminishing rate.

The overall probability of attaining the targets remains high, though dependent largely on the confluence of several factors, among them: scaling up of current efforts on all target areas; more efficient synchronization and allocation of available limited resources, including mobilization of additional resources; and stronger advocacy for and enhanced capability to implement the MDGs at the local level.

Coop General Assembly held last February 14, 2005 Theme: "Good Governance Builds Strong Cooperatives" A total of 263 participants both active and non-active members attended the special assembly. Topics discussed included the Amendments of Articles and By-Laws of the coop. Everyone had a pleasant time during the Coop Musical Contest. as hidden voice and dance talents were exposed.

Article 7 The primary objective of cooperative is to provide goods and services to its members and thus enable them to attain increased income and savings, investments, productivity, and purchasing power and promote among them equitable distribution of net surplus through maximum utilization of economies of scale, cost sharing and risk sharing without, however, conducting the affairs of the cooperative for eleemosynary or charitable purposes.

Economies of scale, in microeconomics, refers to the cost advantages that a business obtains due to expansion. There are factors that cause a producers average cost per unit to fall as the scale of output is increased.
