BOMBAY HIGH COURT

HISTORY
Inaugurated on 14th August, 1862. Constructed for Rs.16000. Had a bench of only 7 judges for 57 yrs. Sir Norman Mcleod was appointed Chief Justice during World War I

TODAY
The present high court building was completed in November 1878 taking 6yrs to complete. Has a sanctioned strength of 75 judges Re-assignment of judges take place every 8-10 weeks There are 30 courts in the Bombay High Court
