India is experiencing a continuous increase in life expectancy and a decline in birth rate. The social and infrastructural development plays a critical role in the development of this industry. Chennai is the hub of Indian medical industry.
To do in depth study on the health care sector. To study the common mans perception regarding health care providers. To study the factors that attributes to the growth of health care sector. To determine the level of common mans satisfaction regarding the services provided by the health care industry.
The optical health of people can be achieved by providing access to comprehensive health care benefits. The changes should involve services and procedures specific to the delivery of preventive, prenatal, postnatal and mental health care. The services should be delivered by appropriately trained and board-eligible and trained doctors and nurses.

This chart represents the monthly expenditure on medicines among the different age groups. It is a matter of surprise that the younger age groups spend more on their medical expenses when compared to the adults.
The findings under the self-medication category is that, people under the 20-30, 30-40 age groups refrain themselves from practicing self-medication. The age group of 50-60 practices self medication the most, this might be because they consider their experience in life will help them.
The findings under the monthly expenditure on medicines show that the age group of 20-30 spend more on their medical expenses. This might be because of their improper lifestyle.
The past 50 years have witnessed development of a vast health care infrastructure and manpower aimed at providing health care to population. Several programmes for health care have been evolved and have been implemented both at national and state level.
Most of Indias billion-plus people struggle with a public health care system that is overburdened in cities and virtually nonexistent in villages. On the other hand, private health care is booming, and the countrys state-of-the art hospitals and highly skilled doctors even attract patients from countries where health care costs are much higher.
