Legal Basis
Executive Order 121 and Executive Order 352 mandate the NSCB to compile and release the countrys national accounts estimates on a quarterly and annual basis

Need to continuously improve the quality and usefulness of the PSNA

Background

The NSCB has long recognized the need to improve the PSNA and migrate to the 1993 SNA Efforts were exerted towards migrating to the 1993 SNA:
- Institutional Strengthening of the Philippine System of National Accounts Project under the Technical Assistance granted by the ADB to the NSCB (ADB TA 2875 PHI) in 1997 - Philippine-Australian Government Facility (PAGF) Project on the implementation of the 1993 SNA and the Chain Volume Measures (CVM) in 2001

World Bank Trust Fund for Statistical Capacity Building (TFSCB): Improving the Quality and Usefulness of the Philippine System of National Accounts Major Objective: Enhance the capacity of the NSCB in undertaking a major revision of the Philippine System of National Accounts (PSNA), given the issues raised by experts and stakeholders on the quality and usefulness of the PSNA
