Lot of Religious Sentiments are
associated with The Cow
It is a Harmless Animal
Humanitarian Grounds
Obstacles

 Majority of Consumption is
Consequences
Increase in number of Slaughter
Houses
Decrease in No. of Cows
Hurts the Sentiments of Majority
of Indians
As the Cost of Beef is less, it may
result in breech in Safety
Standards
This may result in unhygienic
Food Supply
Bi-Products like Bone Powder end
Is There a Way Out ??
Yes, I Think there is!

Next few Slides shall attempt to

suggest few of the measures
which can help.
We have to Understand the
implicit Benefits of Saving a
Cow’s Life.
We Should Understand What We
are loosing out from a Cow, By
Panchagavya
In Sanskrit, Panchagavya means
the blend of five products
obtained from cow. During
Yagnas , It is given as Prasadam
Cow Dung - An Antiseptic
Cow Urine - Therapeutic Agent
Cow Milk – a Unique Nourishing
Food
Cow Ghee – Full of Nutritive
Qualities
Panchagavya –Eco Friendly
Manure
Panchagavya is also used to
safeguard plants and soil micro-
organisms and to increase plant
production
Panchagavya application is found
to be more profitable than
recommended fertilizer
application and chemical spray.
The modified versions of
Panchagavya (unique liquid
organic fertilizer) used for organic
farming have been standarised
Dairy Farming
Farming Cows seems to be the best
alternative to Slaughtering it!

Milkcosts Rs 18 / L
Curd Costs Rs 22 / L
Butter Costs Rs 150 / Kg
Ghee Costs about Rs 200 / L

PS: It works out more profitable than

the cheap Beef !!
Cow Urine Theraphy
The Cow 's urine, which is being
sold under the label 'Gift of the

prasnat panchgavyasya
dahasagnirivendhnam"
Meaning : From skin to bones,
what ever sins (diseases) are in
my body, are destroyed by
panchagavya just as fire destroys
fuel.

for Industrialists
Mid Level Dealers and the Sellers
stand a very welcome Business
Rural Employment may get a big
boom in production of bio-energy
from Cow Dung
Research & Development
There is lot of scope for Research
in how Cow’s Products could be
used
Ayurveda forms the Basis for
further Innovation in effective
utilization and possibly better
results.
May be a good Topic for getting a
Ph.D(India running low on No. of
Ph.D holders)
Implemented Examples

 U.S.Farms Save Big Turning Manure to

Kilowatts

A Dairy farm that's already saving

$60,000 a year by turning cow manure
into energy using an anaerobic
biodigester.
Silent Revolution in Orissa
Orissa entered into a tie-up with a
German bank to sell carbon
reductions generated through
biogas plants in the state.
Traditional technology can be used
to generate carbon credits and
bring in the Euros for end users
living in far-flung villages
The one-time cost of setting up a
plant is Rs 9,000.While government
gives a subsidy of Rs 3,000.
Other Important Benefits
Scientists say , farming done the
right way can remove carbon
from the atmosphere.(Help
reducing Global Warming)
The Canadians and Germans are
working on a project to meet 10%
of there Energy requirements
from dried cow dung
Need For Industry Back Up
Industry need to use take this up
with utmost interest and convert
this into a long term Business
Commitment.
Entrepreneurs can provide jobs
for hundreds of people
Companies need to come fwd
and invest on Research and
Development
Need For Political Will

Promote use of Bio-Energy
Give Subsidy to investing
Companies

doing Research on Topics Related
to Cows
