The service times are the total times required to complete the operations on Ferrari cars type F106 (308 GTB, 308 GTS, 308 GT4, 308 GTBi, 308 GTSi, and 208 GT4). ‘The times are based on: @ use of a trained mechanic © use of special tools and equipment required for a Ferrari shop The service times are in hour and tenths of an hour. Each time allowance includes time for: moving car in and out of work area, removal, disassembly, cleaning, reassembly and reinstallation, adjustment of the component or system unless otherwise stated, and allowances for reasonable variations of the condition of the car, seized or broken parts, and swiftness and skills of the mechanic. Operation Number Each operation number is a 7 digit number. This number is used to: ¢ identify a particular operation and its time, identify a particular part which is used in malfunction coding to identify the cause of repair. The first two digits - Identify the car model and in this book is always 06 representing F106 models. ‘The’ third digit - Represents the group. The book is divided into the following groups: 0 ~ Service Coupons 5 ~ Steering 1 - Engine 6 ~ Suspensions and wheels 2 - Clutch 8 ~ Electrical systems 3 ~ Transmission 9 - Body 4 - Brakes The Shop Manual and Service Bulletins are divided in a similar manner. ‘The fourth digit ~ Represents the sub-group within a group such as: 06.1.0 - Engine Assembly 06.1.1 - Crankcase, Crankshaft, and Piston 06.1.4 ~ Fuel System Page 1‘The fifth and sixth digits — Together identify a particular part of the sub-group. This number is shown in the asso- ciated illustration. ( ’ Is a consecutive number used to distinguish between various operations or conditions for a particular part. Then refer to the front of the tab page containing the section ‘number to obtain the sub-group number. After obtaining the sub-group number, find the page for that sub-group. Each right hand page is marked in the upper right hand corner with the sub-group number. To find the particular part you are working on, refer to the associate illustration. The parts (on the illustration contain a two digit number. A number which is circled has an operation fumber. A number which is not circled does not have an operation number but would be covered under an operation for a related part or assembly. Malfunction Code The Malfunction Code is used by Ferrari North America and the Factory to determine possible problem areas, spere parts needs, training pro- grams, product improvements, etc. It is extremely important that this information is accurate in order to prevent incorrect malfunction records, etc. and extensive research. The Malfunction Code area of the Warranty Claim Form is to be filled out by the Dealer's Service Manager. COMPONENT PAORLEN ‘CODE e ‘Malfunction Code Number The Malfunction Code number is 2 6 digit number consisting of a 4 digit component code and a 2 digit problem code. MALFUNCTION CODE . X. The failed part should be inspected to determine the actual cause of failure and the proper code supplied, The first digit of the Component Code is the group. The second digit is the sub-group.
