Grob gesagt, zerfiel die Welt der Regale
bislang in zwei Hälften. Da gab es
auf der einen Seite die eleganten,
die zwar gut aussehen, aber zwangs-
läufig weniger aushalten. Da gab
es andererseits die standfesten,
denen man ihre robuste Ausführung
unweigerlich ansah. Mit grid hingegen
stellen wir ein völlig neuartiges
Regalsystem vor, das das Beste aus
beiden Welten auf eleganteste Weise
vereint.

Broadly speaking, the world of shelves
used to be divided into two halves. On the
one hand there were the elegant ones
that looked good, but were inevitably less
stable. Then there were the sturdy ones
whose robustness was patently obvious
at first glance. With grid, however, we are
presenting a completely new kind of
shelving system that combines the best of
both worlds in the most elegant way
imaginable.

Füßen in zwei alternativen Höhen (rechts).
Auch den Bettkasten, der tagsüber Wäsche
und Decken aufnimmt, gibt es in zwei
Höhenvarianten.  —  malo is probably
the most elegant way to come to rest.

1937 In Wiedenbrück in Westphalia,
the brothers Leo and Hans Lübke set up
their own small furniture factory. “Form
follows function” is one of their leitmotifs.
“Something is only perfect when there’s
nothing left to take away” is another.
1955 interlübke is the only German
furniture manufacturer to pursue
active brand management – for example
by only supplying its products to selected
furniture stores and illustrating
its catalogues with photos instead of
drawings.

1956 The 123 extendable programme
radically distances itself from traditional
bedroom combinations. For the first time,
a complete room can be furnished using
its individual elements.
1962 The name “interlübke” appears for
the first time – reflecting both “interior”
and “internationalism”. Michael Bayer
develops the word logo still used today.
1963 With its reduced design, interlübke
furniture advances in the sixties to become
the epitome of progressive modernity. One
example is the endless wardrobe which was
revolutionary in those days. In a further
developed form and under the name collect
it remains in the range to this day.
1976 With “studimo” by team form ag,
a variably configurable, modular shelving
classic is created which is still part of
the programme.
1983 With “duo”, interlübke launches a
decidedly youthful range of furniture. The
creator is designer Peter Maly, who has a
great influence on interlübke’s portfolio in
the seventies and eighties.
