In order for the Austrian Archaeological Institute to apply for the excavation permit for 2014, it is necessary that all non-Turkish citizens who are planning to participate submit an application for a study visa to the Turkish authorities through the office of the excavations in Ephesos. We would like to emphasize that the successful application is simply a first step in fulfilling the official requirements of the Turkish authorities so that you can participate. However, a successful application does not represent a formal acceptance to participate in the excavations in Ephesos. Therefore, we are now sending you the valid form as a PDF and ask that you comply with the following guidelines: Please fill out the form digitally. Hand-written forms cannot be processed. Some fields are required, others are optional. Explanations concerning the information needed in specific fields can be found in the form itself by moving your mouse over the highlighted fields. Please make sure that the resolution of your digital passport photo is adequate for printing. If you do not have a digital version of your passport photo, you can affix a hard copy in the marked area. Stapled passport photos are not accepted. Please send the form (as xml-file) to ephesos@oeai.at with the help of the corresponding button on the right upper edge of the first page of the form. Print out the PDF six-times (in the window Print choose in the Page Handling section: None ; sign the form six-times on the last page in the space provided. The hard copies must be received at the very latest by November 29, 2013. The submission of late applications is not possible. If you have not received an e-mail notification concerning the receipt of your form from the excavations of Ephesos by November 29,2013, please contact us at ephesos@oeai.at.
