Distributed Computation with BOINC

Aufruf zur Teilnahme

Das Projekt Constellation soll eine Plattform für Weltraumbezogene numerische Simulationen
werden und Verteiltes Rechnen (Distributed Computation) nutzen.
Dieses soll mit BOINC (Berkeley Open Interface for Network Computing) umgesetzt werden.

Gesucht werden ProgrammiererInnen und Simulationsprojekte und wir bieten

1. Aufgaben als ProgrammiererIn:

– BOINC-Server als auch -Client einrichten und programmieren

– Hilfe bei der Integration der Simulation(en) in BOINC-Server und -Client
– BOINC-Webservereinrichtung und eventuelle Wartung der Server
– gewünschte Kenntnisse: C/C++, Java, Mehrkern, Parallelisierung, Linux

2. Einstieg und Teilnahme an laufenden Simulationsprojekten:

– TrackJack: Trajektorienoptimierer für Launcher, Satelliten und Sonden

Teilaufgabe DGLR-Gruppe „Hyend“ - Hybride Höhenrakete
– Onahii Moon: Simulation der Mondnahen Exosphäre
– Extreme Maschine: Analyse des dynamischen Verhaltens von Erkundungsrovern

3. Umsetzung eurer Simulationsprojekte:

Constellation soll im Rahmen wissenschaftlicher Arbeiten als freie Plattform dienen.

Sollten Sie an einem Projekt arbeiten, das unter folgende Kriterien fällt ...

– wissenschaftliche Arbeit oder Forschungsprojekt,

– rechenintensive Simulation, die durch Verteiltes Rechnen berechenbar ist
– Luft- und Raumfahrt Bezug

Call For Participation
As part of a Diploma Thesis in Aerospace Engineering at the University of Applied Sciences
Bremen, a numerical simulation method has been developed. This simulation system is expected
to be extended into Distributed Computation and implemented into BOINC (Berkeley Open
Interface for Network Computing).

Wer are currentl y looking for Programmers and Participant Simulation-Projects

Programmers:

– Verification, it the current method can be implemented into BOINC

– Setting up and programming for BOINC-server and -client
– Integration of the simulation system to the client and server
– BOINC-webserver maintenance

Simulation-Projects:

There is no special restriction for simulation projects to participate in this project. The plattform
itself is meant to be open for all scientific and research objects, if the project falls under the
following criteria ...

– Scientific/academic work or research project

– It requires large computational power and can be solved by Distributed Computation
– is somehow related to space exploration
