Alexandra Weiding ist in Weidbach angekommen und geht Kristin im Café besuchen. Kristin möchte
etwas über das neue Buch wissen, das Alexandra schreibt, aber sie möchte nichts verraten.

ALEXANDRA Guten Morgen, liebe Kristin!

KRISTEN Hallo Alex, wir haben uns ja ewig nicht gesehen! Wo hast du dich versteckt?

ALEXANDRA Versteckt? Ich habe mich nicht versteckt. Ich war mit meinem neuen Buch
beschäftigt.

KRISTEN Oh, das ist so aufregend! Worum geht es?

ALEXANDRA Ich möchte dir das nicht sagen. Ich hasse es, mit Leuten über mein Buch zu
sprechen, bevor es fertig ist.

KRISTEN Ach, bitte, erzähl doch, Alex! Ich liebe deine Geschichten und ich habe alle
deine Bücher gekauft.

ALEXANDRA Ich kann es dir unmöglich jetzt schon erzählen. Das Buch ist ja nicht mehr
spannend, wenn du schon weißt, was passiert.

KRISTEN Och bitte! Du bist die beste Schriftstellerin! Wenn ich einmal mit dem Lesen
angefangen habe, kann ich nicht mehr aufhören. Ich kann deine Bücher ein-
fach nicht mehr weglegen!

ALEXANDRA Schmeichelei bringt dich nicht weiter, ich verrate nichts. Außerdem, wenn dir
meine anderen Bücher gefallen, wirst du dieses nicht mögen. Es ist ziemlich
anders.

KRISTEN Wirklich? Wie anders?

ALEXANDRA Also es beginnt mit... Nein! Warte mal, Ich merke, was du hier gerade versuchst.
Ganz schön schlau!

KRISTEN Haha, ich glaube, du hast mich erwischt. Kannst du mir wenigstens sagen,
welches Genre es ist? Ich denke, dein neues Buch sollte eine Komödie sein, du
hast noch nie eine Komödie geschrieben. Du könntest ein paar Witze schrei-
ben, die Leute zum Lachen bringen...

ALEXANDRA Bäh, nee! Ich würde nie eine „Komödie“ schreiben. Meine Bücher sind alle sehr
ernst. Es geht immer um wichtige Dinge, wie Leben und Tod, Gut und Böse,
Freude und Schmerz.

KRISTEN Oh, das klingt wirklich sehr ernst. Es klingt, als ob du eine Horrorgeschichte
schreiben möchtest, ein Buch voll von Gespenstern, Monstern und bösen Geis-
tern, die dem Leser vom Anfang bis zum Ende Angst machen!

ALEXANDRA Hmm.. vielleicht. Aber ich glaube, Horror ist öde. Wenn man Horror liest, dann
liest man das gleiche immer und immer wieder. Am Anfang ist es gruselig,
aber man langweilt sich schnell.

KRISTEN OK, Ist dein neues Buch vielleicht eine Romanze? Ich finde, in jedem Buch
muss es Liebe und Beziehungen geben. Zwei Charaktere sollten sich verlieben,
sie sollten heiraten... Es muss unbedingt ein Happy End geben!

ALEXANDRA Happy End? Oh mein Gott, Kristin! Hast du nicht gesagt, du liest meine Büch-
er? Die haben nie ein „Happy End“ oder „Witze“. Das Ende ist immer dunkel,
gruselig und traurig. Am liebsten schreibe ich Tragödien.

KRISTEN Aha! Also hast du eine Tragödie geschrieben!

ALEXANDRA Was?

KRISTEN Ich habe es geschafft! Du hast mir gesagt, worum dein neues Buch geht!

ALEXANDRA Mist! Vor dir kann ich nichts geheim halten!

KRISTEN Haha, niemand in Weidbach kann das!

Alexanra Weiding has arrived in Weidbach and goes to the café to visit Kristin. Kristin wants to know
something about the new book that Alexandra is writing, but she doesn’t want to give anything away.

ALEXANDRA Good morning, dear Kristin!

KRISTEN Hello Alex, we haven’t seen you for ages! Where have you been hiding?

ALEXANDRA Hiding? I haven’t been hiding. I’ve been preoccupied with my new book.

KRISTEN Oh that’s exciting! How’s it going?

ALEXANDRA I don’t want to tell you. I hate talking about my book with people before it’s
finished.

KRISTEN Oh please tell, Alex! I love your stories and I have bought all of your books.

ALEXANDRA I can’t possibly tell you now. The book isn’t exciting if you already know what’s
going to happen.

KRISTEN Oh please! You’re the best author! Once I start reading, I can’t stop. I simply
can’t put your books down!

ALEXANDRA Flattery won’t get you anywhere, I will not reveal anything. Besides, if you like
my other books, you will not like this. It is quite different

KRISTEN Really? How different?

ALEXANDRA Well it begins with…no! Hold on. I see you what you’re trying to do here. Pretty
clever?

KRISTEN Haha, I think you caught me. Can you at least tell me what genre it is? I think
your new book should be a comedy, you haven’t written a comedy yet. You
could write a few jokes to make people laugh.

ALEXANDRA Bahh no! I wouldn’t want to write a comedy. My book are all very serious. It’s
always about the important things, like life and death, good and evil, friends
and enemies.

KRISTEN Oh, that sounds very serious. It sounds like you would like to write a horror
story, a book full of ghosts, monsters, and evil spirits that scare people from
beginning to end!

ALEXANDRA Hmm, maybe. But I think horror is dull. When someone reads horror then they
read the same stories again and again. It’s creepy to begin with but then it gets
boring quickly.

KRISTEN Okay, maybe your new book is a romance? I think every book should have love
and relationships. Two characters should fall in love, they should marry. There
should always be a happy ending

ALEXANDRA Happy ending? Oh my god, Kristin! Didn’t you say you read my books? They
never have a happy ending or jokes. The end is always dark, creepy, and de-
pressing. I prefer to write tragedies.

KRISTEN Aha! So you’ve written a tragedy?

ALEXANDRA What?

KRISTEN I’ve done it! You’ve told what your new book will be!

ALEXANDRA Oh, dear! You can’t keep a secret!

KRISTEN No one in Weidbach can!
