(We follow German Instagram stars or watch videos on YouTube.
They give insight to daily use of the German language and interesting
topics.)

„Meine Handy-Sprache und auch die Tastatur ist auf Deutsch.“

(My Smartphone phone and keyboard language is set to German.) 

„Ich gucke US-amerikanische TV-Serien auf Deutsch, z.B. ‚Friends’.

Ich kenne die Serie sehr gut und verstehe schon den Kontext.“
(I watch US-American TV shows which has been dubbed, such as
Friends. I know it very well so that I understand the context.)

„Ich liebe den Podcast ‘Slow German’. Mein Ziel ist nicht alles zu
verstehen. Ich konzentriere mich nur auf Rhythmus und Syntax der
Sprache.“
(I don‘t try to understand what‘s being said, I just listen to the rhyth-
ms and syntax of the language.) 

„Ich liebe Nachrichten und bevor ich die englische Presse lese,
überfliege ich zuerst ein paar deutsche Artikel.”
(I am a news junkie. Before reading the English press first, I try to at
least peruse a couple of German articles first.)

„Mein Tipp: Sprich einfach – auch wenn du Fehler machst!

Überwinde deine Angst vor Fehlern!“
(Just speak even if you make mistakes. Get over your fear of
saying something wrong!)

„Wir lesen gern deutsche Bücher mit der Goethe-App ‚Onleihe’. Man
kann sich auf dem Handy Bücher ausleihen und auch lesen.“
(We love to read German books with the Goethe-App ‚Onleihe’. You can
borrow and read books on your smartphone.)

„Ich belausche Deutsche. Mein Deutsch ist noch nicht so gut, also verstehe
ich nicht alles. Ich teste mich immer, wie viele Wörter ich verstehe. Es ist
nicht so höflich, aber sehr hilfreich!”
(I like to eavesdrop on German speakers. I don‘t have enough fluency to
invade their privacy! You can test yourself on how many words you actually
recognize. It‘s a little bit impolite but very helpful!)

„Ich versuche, in meinem Kopf eine deutsche Konversation über

meine täglichen Aktivitäten zu führen.“
(I try to have a conversation in German (in my head) about my
daily activities.)
