Ergänzung der Wartungs- und Reparaturanleitung für SAF Achsen,

bzw. Achsaggregate mit 19,5“ Scheibenbremsen vom Typ SKRB
9019K, SKRB 9019W, SK 1000 ET 120
Sie betreiben einen Lkw-Anhänger/-Auflieger, in dem SAF Achsen
bzw. Achsaggregate vom Typ SKRB 9019K, 9019W oder SK1000
mit 19,5“ Bremsscheiben eingebaut sind. Eingebaut sind in diese
Achstypen die Bremsscheiben mit den Teilenummern
04.079.0007.00 und 04.079.0007.01.

Wir weisen Sie mit dieser “Wichtigen Info“ darauf hin, dass wir
unsere Wartungs- und Reparaturanleitungen für die Achsen bzw.
Achsaggregate vom Typ SKRB 9019K, 9019W oder SK1000 mit
19,5“ Bremsscheiben ergänzen werden. Folgende
Handlungsempfehlungen werden wir dort zusätzlich aufnehmen:

Seite 6: Sicherheitsprüfung bzw. Sichtprüfung:

Bremsscheibe auf Rissbildung prüfen.

Dieser Abschnitt wird um folgenden Text erweitert:

Bremsscheibe auf Korrosion prüfen, erstmalig nach 3 Jahren, danach alle 12 Monate.

Die Reibflächen unserer Bremsscheiben halten dem Verschleiß unter normalen Bedingungen sehr
lange stand. Daher ist die durch den Abtrag der Reibflächen bestimmte Lebensdauer der
Bremsscheiben im Regelfall deutlich verlängert. Es besteht jedoch die Möglichkeit, dass die
Bremsscheibe unter bestimmten Umständen bzw. Einsatzbedingungen korrodiert und sich dadurch
ihre Lebensdauer verkürzt.

Um diesen Zustand rechtzeitig zu erkennen und dies zu vermeiden, ist es notwendig, die
üblichen regelmäßigen Sichtprüfungen an den Bremsscheiben zuverlässig durchzuführen.

Beispiele, die als Kriterium für die Notwendigkeit des Austausches der Bremsscheibe dienen, finden
Sie in unter den Punkten 1-3 dieses Schreibens.

In dieser “Wichtigen Info“ greifen wir diesen Hinweis nochmals ausdrücklich auf und bitten Sie,
sowohl die Reibflächen auf Verschleiß als auch die allgemeine Korrosion nach den mitgeteilten
Vorgaben zu prüfen. Bremsscheiben, die Verschleiß oder starke Korrosion erkennen lassen,
müssen rechtzeitig ausgetauscht werden

Abschließend weisen wir darauf hin, dass wir für Folgen, insbesondere Schäden und/oder
Unfälle, die durch unterlassene Prüfungen und/oder den nicht rechtzeitigen Ersatz verschlissener
Bremsscheiben entstehen, nicht haften.

Beispiele, die als Kriterium für die Notwendigkeit des Austausches der Bremsscheibe dienen:

1) Austausch bei Verschleiß

Verschleißmaße Bremsscheibe

Bei Erreichen der Verschleißgrenzen sind Bremsbeläge und Bremsscheiben

umgehend zu erneuern.

2) Austausch bei Rissbildung

Die Bremsscheibe muss umgehend erneuert werden bei

You are operating a trailer / semi-trailer that is fitted with SAF

axles or axle suspensions of type SKRB 9019K, 9019W or
SK1000 with 19.5" brake discs. The brake discs with part
numbers 04.079.0007.00 and 04.079.0007.01 are fitted in these
axle types

With this "Important Info", we are informing you that we are going
to extend our maintenance and repair instructions for the axles or
axle suspensions of type SKRB 9019K, 9019W or SK1000 with
19.5" brake discs. The following handling recommendations will
additionally be entered with immediate effect:

Page 6: Safety inspection or visual inspection:

Check the brake disc for cracking.

This section will be extended with the following text:

Check the brake disc for corrosion after 3 years for the first time and then every
12 months.

Under normal conditions, the friction surface of our brake discs can withstand wear over a long
period. For this reason, the service life of the brake disc is generally extended considerably by
the removal of the friction surface. There is however the possibility that the brake disc corrodes
under certain circumstances or operating conditions, which results in the reduction of its service
life.

In order to detect this condition in due time and to prevent it, it is necessary to ensure
that the regular and usual visual inspection of the brake discs is carried out.

Examples that serve as criteria for the necessity of replacing the brake disc can be found under
Points 1 - 3 of this communication.

In this "Important Info", we are expressly addressing this information once again and request
that you inspect the friction surface for wear as well as the general corrosion according to the
specifications indicated. Brake discs that clearly show wear or intensive corrosion must be
replaced in due time

Finally, we would like to point out that we are not liable for damage and / or accidents that result
from inspections not carried out and / or worn brake discs that are not replaced within due time.

Examples that serve as criteria for the necessity of replacing the brake disc:

1) Replace when worn

Wear limits on the brake disc

When the wear limit is reached, the brake pads and brake discs must be
replaced immediately.

2) Replace with cracking

The brake disc must be replaced immediately in event of

full-length cracking - Fig. A
