The equipment is sold with the understanding that the General Electric Company, Medical Systems Group, its
agents, and representatives have no responsibility for injury or damage which may result from improper use of the
equipment.
Various protective material and devices are available. It is urged that such materials or devices be used.
All electrical installations that are preliminary to positioning of the equipment at the site prepared for the equipment
shall be performed by licensed electrical contractors. In addition, electrical feeds into the Power Distribution Unit
shall be performed by licensed electrical contractors. Other connections between pieces of electrical equipment,
calibrations, and testing shall be performed by qualified GE Medical personnel. The products involved (and the
accompanying electrical installations) are highly sophisticated, and special engineering competence is required.
In performing all electrical work on these products, GE will use its own specially trained field engineers. All of GE’s
electrical work on these products will comply with the requirements of the applicable electrical codes.
The purchaser of GE equipment shall only utilize qualified personnel (i.e., GE’s field engineers, personnel of third–
party service companies with equivalent training, or licensed electricians) to perform electrical servicing on the
equipment.

shipment” written on all copies of the freight or express bill before delivery is accepted or “signed for” by a Gen-
eral Electric representative or a hospital receiving agent. Whether noted or concealed, damage MUST be reported
to the carrier immediately upon discovery, or in any event, within 14 days after receipt, and the contents and con-
tainers held for inspection by the carrier. A transportation company will not pay a claim for damage if an inspection
is not requested within this 14 day period.
Call Traffic and Transportation, Milwaukee, WI (414) 827-3449 / 8*285-3449 immediately after damage is found.
At this time be ready to supply name of carrier, delivery date, consignee name, freight or express bill number, item
damaged and extent of damage.
Complete instructions regarding claim procedure are found in Section “S” of the Policy & Procedure Bulletins.
CAUTION
Do not use the following devices near this equipment. Use of these devices near this equipment could cause

SECTION 1 - INTRODUCTION
This option enables CT/e, ProSpeed AI/FI Series and CT/e Dual, ProSpeed AII/FII Series systems to use SSP
Phantom. This manual describes direction.
CAUSE
Calculate slice trim thickness with right-angled triangle with the tungsten wire image which got by scan under defined
scan condition with required thickness.

Note: Set WW=30, WL=-80 on scout image to get a clear Tungsten wire display.
For axial groups, select mA=100, DFOV=5cm, 1 image per group and Interval=0.
That means scan the same position of Tungsten wire with 6 different thickness without cradle movement.

This step is only needed for your first time to use SSP phantom in order to get the K value.
For afterwards regular measurement every month, you can skip this step and use the K val-
ue directly in thickness calculation, because one SSP phantom will have a fix K value for
same system.
1. In ImageWorks, view scout image on the screen with one image format.

5. A profile occur and a HMW value displays on the bottom-right corner of the image.
For this example, the HMW=2.64mm.
6. Multiply HMW value by K value to get measured thickness, we have got K=0.5 in 3-2-3, Step 5.
2.64x0.5=1.32(mm)
7. Compare measured thickness 1.32mm with selected scan thickness 1mm to get the tolerance.
(1.32-1)/1=0.32=3.2%
8. Repeat steps 2 to 7 to measure other thickness.
For thickness<=2mm, the tolerance standard is <±50%
For thickness>2mm, the tolerance standard is <±1mm

3-2-4-2 For CT using Linux system (PC Computer), SSP profile and HWM can be saved in ImageWorks
and printed on the film.
NOTICE
For CT/e Linux, software version should be 2.31 or latter.
For CT/e Dual Linux, software version should be 3.61 or latter.
1. Open Image Profile function:
Click mouse left key by sequence: Service → Image Quality → Image Profile, Image Profile window occurs

6. A profile occur and three value displays on the bottom-right corner of the image.
K val: the K value of SSP phantom which you get in 3-2-3 and input in 3-2-4-2 Step 2.
THK: the thickness value, which is got by K val multiply HMW value.
HMW: FWHM value (Full Width Half Maximum).
7. Click “Save Screen” button. Wait for the following prompt window. This SSP profile image will be saved under
the same Examination number with series name “SSAVE”.
