Nach einer Ausbildung als Mbeltischler und anschlieendem Architekturstudium grndet der 1966 geborene Michael Hilgers im Jahr 2001 mit !idee sein eigenes Bro fr Interior- und Produktdesign.Neben innenarchitektonischen Projekten fr internationale Modelabels hat sich der Berliner Gestalter darauf spezialisiert, bislang unbesetzte Produktnischen aufzuspren und mit kaum zu vereinfachenden zweckmigen Lsungen zu fllen. Bekannt geworden ist Hilgers unter anderem durch seine cleveren Ideen fr den Balkon.

After training to become a cabinetmaker and subsequently studying a degree in architecture, Michael Hilgers, who was born in 1966, set up !idee in 2001, his own office for interior and product design. In addition to interior design projects for international fashion labels the Berlin designer has specialised in seeking out previously unfilled product niches and filling them with minimalist purpose-built solutions. Amongst other designs, Hilgers has gained renown for his innovative ideas for balconies.

FLLFEDERHALTER TRIFFT TABLET PC

FLATMATE besitzt im geschlossenen Zustand eine Grundflche von lediglich 0,09 m und drfte somit der kleinste voll ausgestattete Sekretr auf dem Markt sein. Durch seine geringe Bautiefe und das schlichte unauffllige ussere verwandelt er lange Altbauflure bei Bedarf in ein Homeoffice, bietet im Schlafzimmer einen intimen Ort zum Briefeschreiben oder dient im Wochenendhaus als temporrer Arbeitsplatz. FLATMATE macht solche Rume sinnvoll nutzbar, die fr konventionelles Mobiliar ungeeignet sind; auf Grund seiner kompakten Abmessungen ist diese Neuinterpretation des Sekretrs ideal fr mobil lebende Nutzer. Eine integrierte flexible Innenausstattung mit Ablagemglichkeiten fr traditionelle Schreibgerte sowie iPad und Co. verbindet Merkmale eines klassischen Mbeltyps mit den neuen Formen des vernetzten Lebens und Arbeitens. Ergnzt durch eine (nicht im Lieferumfang erhltliche) Bluetooth-Tastatur wird so aus dem mobilen Tablet-PC ein stationrer ergonomischer Arbeitsplatz mit integrierter Stromversorgung; das Mobiltelefon lsst sich bei geschlossener Arbeitsflche unauffllig aufladen. Die blendfreie Beleuchtung sowie die unsichtbare Steckdose werden durch das elegante 1,80 Meter lange weisse Textilkabel in Funktion gesetzt: plug `n` work Hinter den seitlichen Klappen finden zwei 8cm breite Standardordner, ein 17 Laptop nebst Zubehr sowie CDs oder hnliches Platz; bei Bedarf ist eine der Klappen abschliebar lieferbar.

WANDMONTAGE MIT KEILLEISTE Der Sekretr wird an der Rckseite im oberen Bereich mit Hilfe einer Keilleiste mit lediglich 2 Schrauben an der Wand gesichert. Durch die Wandanbringung entsteht zwischen Wand und Mbel eine 10 mm breite Schattenfuge; d.h. die Gesamttiefe des Sekretrs betrgt lediglich 132 mm.

WALL MOUNTING WITH V-STRIP The bureau is affixed to the wall at the back in the upper area with the help of a V-strip with just 2 screws. By attaching it to the wall there will be a 10 mm wide shadow gap between the wall and bureau; i.e. the total depth of the bureau is just 132 mm.

FOUNTAIN PEN MEETS TABLET PC

When closed, FLATMATE has a floor area of just 0.09 m, therefore making it probably the smallest fully equipped bureau on the market. Due to its slim depth and sleek, unobtrusive exterior it transforms long hallways into home offices, offers an intimate place for writing letters in the bedroom or serves as a temporary workplace in a weekend home as required. FLATMATE makes practical use of such remaining spaces, which are unsuitable for conventional furniture; due to its compact dimensions this reinterpretation of the bureau is ideal for mobile living users. An integrated flexible interior with storage space for traditional writing utensils and iPad and Co. combines the features of a classic type of furniture with the new forms of networked living and working. Complemented by a Bluetooth keyboard (not included) it turns the mobile tablet PC into a stationary ergonomic workspace with integrated power supply; mobile phones can be charged inconspicuously when the work surface is closed. The glare-free lighting and concealed plug hole are put into operation with the elegant 1,80 meter long white textile cable: plug n work Behind the side flaps there is space for two 8cm wide standard-sized files, a 17 laptop including accessories and CDs or similar; if required one of the flaps can be provided with a lock.

LAMPE UND STECKDOSE MIT BLENDE Hinter einer abnehmbaren Blende befindet sich eine blendfreie Arbeitsplatzbeleuchtung (Leuchtstoffrhre) mit integrierter Steckdose. Die Stromversorgung erfolgt ber ein Textilkabel mit Stecker.

LAMP AND PLUG HOLE WITH PANEL Behind a detachable panel is a glare-free workspace light (fluorescent tube) with integrated plug hole. The power is supplied via the textile cable with plug.

FSSE UND SOCKEL Flatmate wird standardmig mit weien, runden Fen ausgeliefert. Alternativ ist eine Sockelblende in Melamin wei mit Birken-Kante erhltlich. Bei der farbigen Ausfhrung des Sekretrs erhalten die Fe bzw. die Blende die Farbe des Korpus.

FEET AND BASE Flatmate comes with white, round feet as standard. Alternatively, a plinth panel in melamine white with a birch edge is available. In the coloured version of the bureau the feet or the panel are the same colour as the corpus.

KABEL Das hochwertige Textilkabel ist in der hinteren Rckwand mittig eingelassen und hat eine Lnge von 180 cm, gemessen ab der Auenseite des Sekretrs.

CABLE The high-quality textile cable is embedded in the centre of the back wall and has a length of 180 cm, measured from the outer side of the bureau.

ORDNERFCHER Der Sekretr verfgt beidseitig ber je eine zustzliche Tr. Hier steht weiterer Stauraum zur Verfgung. Die 3 Fcher auf jeder Seite bieten Platz fr einen 8 cm breiten Standardordner, ein 17 Laptop, CDs usw. Bei Bedarf ist eine der Klappen abschliebar lieferbar.

FILE COMPARTMENTS On both sides the bureau has an additional door concealing further storage space. The 3 compartments on each side offer space for an 8 cm wide standard-sized file, a 17 laptop, CDs etc. If required one of the flaps can be provided with a lock.

GRIFFMULDE Die zwei Tren an den Auenseiten sowie die Arbeitsplatte des Sekretrs sind jeweils mit einer formschnen Griffmulde versehen und lassen sich so bequem ffnen.

RECESSED GRIP The two doors on the outer sides and the worktop of the bureau each have a well-designed recessed grip, making it comfortable and simple to open the doors.

ARBEITSPLATTE UND STOSSDMPFER Der Sekretr verfgt ber eine groe, stabile Arbeitsplatte mit dem Ma 420x710 mm. Die hochwertigen Klappenhalter garantieren ein langsames, gedmpftes Herabsenken der Arbeitsplatte.

WORKTOP AND SHOCK ABSORBERS The bureau has a large, stable worktop measuring 420 x 710 mm. The highquality flap holder ensures the slow, controlled lowering of the worktop.

METALLSET UND RCKWAND Im Lieferumfang des FLATMATE ist ein 3-teiliges Ordnungsset (z.B. Halter fr Tablet-Computer, Briefstnder, Stiftablage) aus pulverbeschichtetem Metall enthalten. Diese Elemente lassen sich flexibel an der Rckwand einhngen.

METAL SET AND BACK WALL Included with the FLATMATE is a 3-part organisation set (e.g. holder for tablet computer, letter holder, pen rest) made from powder-coated metal. These elements can be flexibly attached to the back wall.
