Ja, ich erinnere mich noch sehr gut. Doppel-

die Mund-zu-Mund-Propaganda hat uns schnell
bekannt gemacht. Heute spielen wir mit unseren
Produktionen in der Champions League des
Showbusiness.

Warum ist das Konzept so erfolgreich?

Die Leute lieben Live-Entertainment und wollen
ihre Idole sehen, mit deren Musik sie gro
geworden sind. Einige kann man leider nicht
mehr live erleben, weil sie entweder keine Live-
Konzerte mehr geben oder bereits gestorben
sind. Um zumindest fr einen Augenblick die
Illusion wiederauferstehen zu lassen, besuchen
die Menschen Stars in Concert.

Wie finden Sie neue Doppelgnger?

Wir erhalten jede Woche Bewerbungen von
Doppelgngern, denn es hat sich rumgesprochen,
dass die Produktionen sehr hochwertig und
professionell sind. Unter den Knstlern, die fr
uns arbeiten, sind aber auch Quereinsteiger und
Zufallsbegegnungen. Mittlerweile sind die
Menschen Doubles gegenber offener als frher
wir hatten bisher 5,5 Millionen Zuschauer das
spricht doch fr sich.

Can you remember the very first Stars in Concert

show?
I remember it well. Back in 1997, look-and-sound
alike productions still had a bad reputation be-
cause of the prevalence of mediocre doubles and
lip-sync shows, and it was hard to distance our-
selves from that image. But word-of-mouth soon
made people aware of our production, and today
were one of the top dogs in show business.

Why is the concept so successful?

People love live entertainment and want to see
the idols responsible for making the music they
grew up with. Unfortunately, not all of them can
still be seen live, either because theyre no longer
performing or because theyve already passed
away. Thats why people love Stars in Concert:
It brings their favourite stars back to life, even if
its only for a short while.

How do you go about finding new look-and-

sound alike artists?
Every week, we receive new applications from
look-and-sound alike artists who have heard
about the high quality and professionalism of the
production. Some of the performers we work with
have shining careers behind them already and
some we discover by chance. Luckily, people are
more receptive to the concept of look-and-sound
alike performances today than they used to be,
and the 5.5 million viewers weve entertained so
far are a testament to that.

Mit einer groen Galashow feierte am 9. September
Europas erfolgreichste Doppelgnger-Show ihren 20.
Geburtstag im Estrel Berlin. ber 500 Gste aus Poli-
tik, Wirtschaft, Kultur und Entertainment waren der
Einladung von Estrel-Eigentmer Ekkehard Streletzki
und Stars in Concert-Produzent Bernhard Kurz ge-
folgt, um den unglaublichen Erfolg dieser Show zu
feiern. Moderiert wurde die Jubilumsgala von Uwe
Hbner, Musik-Experte und ehemaliger Moderator der
ZDF-Hitparade. Er fhrte bereits bei der Premiere am
18. September 1997 durch das Programm und unter-
hielt die Zuschauer mit Anekdoten sowie imposanten
Fakten ber Show und Knstler.

Mit der Premiere von Stars in Concert vor 20 Jahren

begann in der Hauptstadt eine einzigartige Erfolgsge-
schichte. Eigentlich sollte Stars in Concert nur vier
Monate in Berlin zu sehen sein; aber ans Aufhren
nach dem Ende der geplante Spielzeit war nicht zu
denken: Zu erfolgreich war die Show mit den groen
Hits der Mega-Stars und ist neben Starlight Express
in Bochum die am lngsten spielende Ensuite-Produktion
in Deutschland. Bis heute hat Produzent Bernhard
Kurz neben Stars in Concert 20 weitere Shows und
Musicalproduktionen auf die Bhne gebracht; sechs
Mal wurde er in den USA zum Producer of the Year
ausgezeichnet. Neben den Auftritten im Estrel gehen
die Shows zudem regelmig auf Weltreise und
waren schon auf nahezu jedem Kontinent zu sehen.
Somit macht das Spiel mit der Illusion die Live-Show
zu einem weltweit beliebten Live-Erlebnis. Viele der
5,5 Millionen Zuschauer, die die Show bisher gesehen
haben, sind sich einig: Die Stars sind groartig und
stehen den Originalen in nichts nach!

Brothers! Die musikalische Comedy-Show in Anlehnung an die beliebten Kultfilme The Blues Brothers und Blues Brothers 2000 bietet viel Action, Humor und
vor allem viel Musik mit groen Hits wie Everybody Needs Somebody to Love bis hin zu Soul Man. Verkrpert wird das explosive Duo von Chris und Geoff Dahl,
die auch im wahren Leben Brder sind. Sie gleichen nicht nur optisch den Originalen bis ins letzte Detail, auch musikalisch stehen sie den Musiklegenden in nichts
nach. Untersttzt werden sie bei ihren Blues-, Soul-, RnB- und RocknRoll-Nummern von einer Live-Band und temperamentvollen Tnzerinnen.

Following its jubilee celebration, Stars in Concert gets 2018 off to an energetic start with Im a Soul Man A Tribute to the Blues Brothers coming to the stage in
January. The musical comedy show pays tribute to the cult films The Blues Brothers and Blues Brothers 2000, and is packed with action and comedy, not to mention
big musical hits like Everybody Needs Somebody to Love and Soul Man. The dynamic duo is played by Chris and Geoff Dall, who are brothers both on and off the
stage. The spitting image of the original duo and no less musically talented, the pair performs blues, soul, RnB and rock n roll hits accompanied by a live band and a
troupe of energetic dancers.

Im Anschluss steht im Februar die ABBA Story Thank you for the music auf der Bhne des Estrel Festival Centers. Mit den legendren Songs des erfolgreichs-
ten schwedischen Pop-Imports kehrt die Partyzeit der bunten 70er-Jahre zurck. Bei Kultsongs wie Mamma Mia, Waterloo oder Dancing Queen kann man
sich in diesem Musical ganz der Illusion der Wiederauferstehung von ABBA hingeben.

In February, the Estrel Festival Center stage will host Thank You for the Music, a show based on the story of the band ABBA. The vibrant party scene of the 70s makes
a comeback with the legendary sound of Swedens most famous pop export. Performances of cult songs like Mamma Mia, Waterloo, and Dancing Queen feel so
true to life, theyll have you believing ABBA is back.

Ab dem 21. Februar knnen sich dann Fans von Tina Turner auf eine Zeitreise durch fnf Jahrzehnte Musikgeschichte der Rock-Ikone begeben und ihre grten Hits
live erleben denn dann gastiert das Musical Simply The Best nach erfolgreicher Weltpremiere 2017 erstmals im Estrel Festival Center in Berlin. Das Musical
schildert das bewegte Leben der Rock-Ikone: Von den Anfangserfolgen mit den Hits wie Proud Mary und Nutbush City Limits, dem Scheitern ihrer Liebe zu
Ehemann und Manager Ike sowie Tinas Neuanfang und raketenartiger Aufstieg zur Solo-Knstlerin.

From 21 February, Tina Turner fans will have the chance to travel through five decades of the rock icons musical journey and hear her biggest hits live along the way.
Following a successful world premiere, the next stop for Simply the Best is Berlins Estrel stage. The musical depicts the stars turbulent life, from her early successes
with hits like Proud Mary and Nutbush City Limits to the breakdown of her relationship with husband and manager, Ike, to her reinvention as a solo artist that sent
her rocketing to stardom.
