Die Basilika St. Marco zu Venedig ist Dreh- und Angelpunkt der frühbarocken Musikgeschichte geistlicher Musik in Europa
und gab für die Maestri di Capella von jeher Anlass für die hohen kirchlichen Festtage repräsentative und großbesetzte
Musik zu verfassen. Aber auch für die Abendgottesdienste oder für geistliche Andachten in den Palazzi der Lagunenstadt
wurde Musik benötigt. In diesem Konzert erklingen Concerti für eine Besetzung mit nur 4 Sängern und dem Basso Continuo.
Das Ensemble Polyharmonique entfacht die musikalische Glut dieser intimen Musik zu einem wärmenden Feuer, welches
die Klarheit der Harmonie und die subtile Tonsprache der Kompositionen von Alessandro Grandi, Giovanni Rigatti und
Giovanni Legrenzi in mannigfaltigen Farben leuchten lässt.

The Basilica of St. Marco in Venice is the hub of the early Baroque music history of sacred music in Europe and has always
given the Maestri di Capella the opportunity to compose representative and large-scale music for the high church festivals.
But music was also needed for the evening services or spiritual devotions in the palazzi of the lagoon city. In this concert you
can hear concerti for a cast of only 4 singers and the basso continuo.
The Ensemble Polyharmonique ignites the musical glow of this intimate music to a warming fire, which lets the clarity of
harmony and the subtle tonal language of the compositions of Alessandro Grandi, Giovanni Rigatti and Giovanni Legrenzi
shine in manifold colours.
