Boards requiring use of lead-free solder are printed with a lead free mark (LF) indicating the solder
contains no lead.
(Caution: Some printed circuit boards may not come printed with the lead free mark due to their particular
size.)
m
. Be sure to use the lead-free solder for the printed circuit board printed with the lead free mark.
. The lead-free solder melts at a temperature about 40 dC higher than the ordinary solder, therefore, it is
recommended to use the soldering iron having a temperature regulator.
. The ordinary soldering iron can be used but the iron tip has to be applied to the solder joint for a slightly
longer time. The printed pattern (copper foil) may peel away if the heated tip is applied for too long, so
be careful.
1. Save the “Main” and “NVM” data before replacement. (Refer to Sections 2-5-2 and 2-5-3.)
2. Replace the C board. (Refer to Section 1-3-4.)
3. Write the “Main” and “NVM” data saved in step 1 to replaced C board.
(Refer to Sections 2-5-4 and 2-5-5.)
4. Perform the V COM adjustment. (Refer to Section 2-3-3.)
5. Check the white balance, then perform the white balance adjustment as needed.
(Refer to Section 2-3-5.)
6. Perform the angle detect sensor adjustment. (Refer to Section 2-3-4.)
n
If any board other than the C board is replaced, there is not adjustment item.
m
. Perform this adjustment in a dark place.
. Be sure to adjust the in-polarizer assembly in the order of (G), (R) and (B).
. Perform this adjustment when removing any one of the in-polarizer assembly (R)/(G)/(B).

3-2-1. C Board
PC input block
The input signal from RGB of channel INPUT A and digital signal from HDMI of one channel INPUT B
are input to a main CPU. An analog RGB signal is converted into digital data using the internal AD
converter of the main CPU.
A component signal and video GBR signal as well as a PC signal can be also input to the RGB/YPBPR
connector of INPUT A.
The thermal sensor board (lamp) of a lamp temperature sensor, the lamp door switch board of a lamp
cover switch, and the thermal sensor board (external) board of an external air temperature sensor, and the
IR sensor board are available as a sensor board.
This board supplies lamp power and system power. The system power outputs +16.7 V and +6.2 V and
generates the power for a circuit on a C board.
