Meine ersten Schritte in die wunderbare

Welt der Harfenmusik beging ich selbst
auf einer winzigen, 20-saitigen Harfe
einfacher Bauart.
Als professionelle Musikerin fehlte mir
leider oft ansprechende Literatur,
gerade für die kleinen, diatonischen
Harfen ohne Haken.
Diese Lücke wollte ich mit meinen
„Pieces for Small Harp“ füllen.
Es entstanden melodisch und
rhythmisch ansprechende Melodien für die rechte Hand, mit der
linken Hand größtenteils einfach akkordisch begleitet.
Zudem habe ich versucht, Techniken wie Arpeggien und Glissandi
als zu lehrende Elemente einfließen zu lassen.
Auf Fingersätze habe ich bewusst verzichtet, damit die Stücke für
jegliche Unterrichtssituation flexibel und kreativ genutzt werden
können.
Alle Stücke in diesem Band sind auf 16-saitigen Harfen ohne
Haken in C spielbar. Für einige Stücke muss lediglich das H zum B
gestimmt werden.

Preface

My own first steps into the beautiful world of harp music were
taken on a very basic harp model with just 20 strings.
As a professional musician, I really missed having some nice and
easy sheet music for diatonic harps without levers.
I wanted to fill this gap with my ‘Pieces for Small Harp’.
Accessible melodies in the right hand with an accompaniment
featuring simple chord progressions in the left hand make my
pieces playable for students from absolute beginners to those with
about a year of experience.
I also tried to include some important harp-specific techniques like
arpeggios and glissandi as well.
No fingerings are included, because I wanted to keep the music
easily usable for any kind of teaching situation.
All pieces in this volume are playable on 16-string harps without
levers in C. For some pieces, the two B strings will need to be
tuned down to B flat.
I hope you enjoy playing my music!
