Aufgabe eins
(As discussed in class, Lektion fünf introduces a lot of vocab and terminology. Rewriting
vocab lists, and also focusing on the definite articles is a helpful exercise. I will also leave
the articles in white so that you can attempt to remember them for practice)
DER = Masculine
DIE = Feminine
DAS = neutral
DIE = plural
(Highlight the space between the quotations and change the text colour to see the definite
articles. If this doesn’t work, send me a message and I will help you with the answers.)
Aussprache Aufgabe
On page 32 of the Menschen A1 course book there are three paragraphs that describe
different glasses (Brillen). We read these paragraphs out loud and worked on pronunciation.
If you were absent or would just like to go through the paragraphs again, please record
yourself and send me a voice note and we can talk about your pronunciation.
Red – rot, green – grün, blue – blau, yellow – gelb, orange – orange, black –
schwarz, white – weiß, brown – braun
Metal – Metall, wood – Holz, glass – Glas, paper – Papier, plastic – Plastik/Kunststoff
Square – eckig, circular/round – rund
Aussprache Aufgabe
On page 33, we went over the conversation exercise wherein we learn how to ask what
something is called in German. Again, if you would like to voice note me, I would be more
than happy to go through your pronunciation and the exercise with you.
Entschuldigung, wie heißt das auf Deutsch?
o Das ist ein/eine „…“ (Pay attention to the object you use, is it masculine,
neutral or feminine? Ein for masculine and neutral and eine feminine.)
Wie bitte? Noch einmal, bitte.
o Das ist ein/eine „…“
Und wie schreibt man „…“/das?
o „…-…-…“
Danke!
o Bitte schön. Kein Problem.
Aufgabe drei
(Try fill in the following sentences with the missing articles and pronouns. I will leave
answers in white as usual)
Das ist „keine“ Flasche, das ist eigentlich „eine“ Tasche. „Sie“ ist weiß.
Das ist „eine“ Zeitung. Sie ist „kein“ Buch.
„Mein/Das“ Bett ist „kein“ Tisch. „Es“ muss ordentlich sein.
(If you are struggling on this exercise you can message me, as we didn’t really get to it in
class, but I will also go though it at the start of the next tutorial to catch everyone up.)
