Plural
Plural articles die
The definite article is always “die”.
Plural nouns have no indefinite articles.
“ein” and “eine” = “a” so there is only one
- no plural is possible with “ein”, but “einige” = a few.
Noun Gender and Pronouns
The gender of a noun (der, die, das) determines
which pronoun will be used in reference to that
noun.

Der Mann ist hier. Er ist hier.

Die Frau ist nett. Sie ist nett.

Das Buch ist neu. Es ist neu.


Noun Gender and Pronouns
The pronoun agrees in the gender of the noun article even
when the noun is not a person or and animal and has no
natural gender (sex).

Der Wind ist kalt. Er ist kalt.

Die Blume ist schön. Sie ist schön.

Das Kind ist brav. Es ist brav.
