Ampere’s Law By Group 2- Rosetta

What is Ampere’s study all about?

● Ampère became one of the first people to measure electric currents as opposed to just
detecting them. He created a device that would eventually become known as the
galvanometer to measure the flow of electricity. He then quantitatively described the
relationship between a magnetic field and the electric current that produces it in a
formulation that is now commonly known as Ampère's Law.
● To calculate the Magnetic field at the inner side of a long solenoid.
● To calculate the magnetic field inside of a conductor.
● To calculate the Magnetic field inside of a toroidal coil.

● where the integral on the left is a “path integral”, similar to how we calculate the
work done by a force over a particular path. The circle sign on the integral means
that this is an integral over a “closed” path; a path where the starting and ending
points are the same

What is his conclusion all about? His main point?

● Ampere's law states that “The magnetic field created by an electric current is
proportional to the size of that electric current with a constant of proportionality equal to
the permeability of free space.”
