Systembeschreibung
Das Prozessinterface EasyPortMini dient der bidirektionalen
Übertragung von Prozesssignalen zwischen einem realen
Steuerungsprozess in Niedervolttechnik (24 V=) und einem PC.
Es kann maximal ein EasyPortMini-Modul über die USB
Schnittstelle mit dem PC verbunden werden. Das System ist für
die Verwendung zu Schulungszwecken konzipiert und optimiert.
Funktion
Das vorliegende EasyPortMini Modul USB D6 verfügt über
6 digitale Ein- und 6 digitale Ausgänge. Nach dem Einschalttest
ist das Modul betriebsbereit und wartet auf die Initialisierung
durch den PC. Die Übertragung der Daten vom PC zum
EasyPortMini-Modul erfolgt durch einzelne, adressierte Schreib-
und Lese-befehle. Zudem kann beim EasyPortMini ein Modus
ein-geschaltet werden, in dem es Änderungen an seinen
Eingängen automatisch an den PC meldet. Die Verbindung zum
Prozessmodell erfolgt durch direktes Stecken des EasyPortMini
Moduls auf einen Multipolverteiler (Bestell-Nr. 177670) über den
15poligen Sub-D Stecker
Sicherheitshinweis
Weder an der Stromversorgung noch an den Ein- und Ausgängen
darf die Spannung die für EasyPortMini angegebenen
Höchstwerte überschreiten. Verwenden Sie keinesfalls
Spannungen über 30 V. Herstellen und Abbauen von elektrischen
Verbindungen nur in spannungslosem Zustand! Das Gerät darf
nur in Systemen eingesetzt werden, bei denen beim Abschalten
der Spannung selbständig ein sicherer Zustand erreicht wird. Die
Sicherheitshinweise der angeschlossenen Geräte sind ebenfalls
zu beachten.

System description
The EasyPortMini process interface is used for the bi-directional
transfer of process signals between a real control process in low-
voltage technology (24 V=) and a PC. A maximum of one
EasyPortMini module can be connected to the PC via the USB
interface. The system has been designed and optimised for
training purposes.
Function
The current EasyPortMini module USB D6 has 6 digital inputs
and 6 digital outputs. After the power-on test the module is
ready for operation and waits for initialisation by the PC. The
data is transferred from the PC to the EasyPortMini module using
individually addressed write and read commands. The
EasyPortMini also has a mode in which changes to its inputs are
reported automatically to the PC. The connection to the process
model is established by plugging the EasyPortMini module into a
multi-pin plug distributor (order no. 177670) via the 15-pin Sub-
D plug.
Safety note
The maximum voltage values specified for EasyPortMini must not
be exceeded either by the power supply or by the inputs and
outputs. Do not use voltages in excess of 30 V. Electrical
connections must only be established and interrupted in the
absence of voltage. The device should only be used in systems in
which a safe state is reached automatically when the voltage is
switched off. The safety regulations for the connected devices
must also be observed.

Verbindung zum PC
Die Verbindung zwischen dem PC und dem Prozessinterface
EasyPortMini erfolgt über die USB Schnittstelle. Die für den USB
Betrieb erforderlichen Treiber befinden sich auf der Fluidsim
MecLab CD im Verzeichnis „Treiber“. Diese Treiber erzeugen auf
dem PC eine virtuelle COM Schnittstelle.
Die COM Anschlussnummer finden Sie auf ihrem PC unter
„Einstellungen/Systemsteuerung/System/
Hardware/Gerätemanager/Ports USB Serial Port COM x“. Es
kann immer nur ein Modul mit dem PC verbunden werden.
Anzeigen
Eine zweifarbige LED (grün/rot) signalisiert verschiedene Stati
des Moduls
• Grüne LED
– Blinken 1 Hz: Zustand nach Einschalten, Modul
kommuniziert noch nicht
– Blinken pulsierend: Modul ist adressiert: Die Adresse wird
im Abstand von 2 sec. durch eine
Anzahl kurzer Leuchtpausen angezeigt.
• Rote LED
Wird an einem der Ausgänge ein Kurzschluss erkannt, so
leuchtet die rote LED. Die Ausgänge am EasyPortMini werden
daraufhin solange getaktet bis der Kurzschluss behoben
wurde. Beim Einschalten des Moduls leuchtet diese LED
ebenfalls kurz auf, Sie wird im Lauf des Einschalttests
gelöscht, bevor die Ausgangstreiber aktiviert werden.
Treibersoftware
Das EasyPortMini Modul ist für die Ansteuerung aus FluidSimP
MechLab konzipiert.
Aus eigenen Programmen (erstellt in C++, PASCAL oder Visual
BASIC) kann das EasyPortMini Modul auch mittels der Befehle
PRINT, INPUT u. ä. in seiner Kommandosprache CI (Command
Interpreter) angesprochen werden.

Connection to PC
The connection between the PC and the EasyPortMini process
interface is established via the USB interface. The USB drivers
required can be found in the ‘Drivers’ folder on the Fluidsim
MecLab CD. These drivers generate a virtual COM interface on
the PC.
The COM port number can be found on your PC under
‘Settings/Control Panel/System/ Hardware/Device
Manager/Ports USB Serial Port COM x’. Only one module can be
connected to the PC at any given time.
Display
A two-colour LED (green/red) signals the different states of the
module:
• Green LED
– Flashing 1 Hz: Status after being switched on,
module not yet communicating
– Intermittent flashing: Module addressed: The
address is displayed at two-
second intervals by a number
of short LED pauses.
• Red LED
If a short circuit is detected at one of the outputs, the red LED
lights up. The EasyPortMini outputs are then pulsed until the
short circuit is eliminated. This LED also lights up for a short
time when the module is switched on. It is extinguished
during the power-on test before the output drivers are
activated.
Driver software
The EasyPortMini module has been designed for activation from
FluidSimP MechLab.
The EasyPortMini module can also be addressed from separate
programs (created in C++, PASCAL or Visual BASIC) using the
commands PRINT, INPUT etc. in its command language CI
(Command Interpreter).
