The extra letters are ä, ö, ü and ß

4. The V in German sounds like the F in English

Ich bin Liza.
2.) You are Arnold.

2. He wants food.
Er will Essen.
3. They must study.

the pattern.
B- bis ( until )
O – ohne ( without )
U- um ( around )
G – gegen ( against )
E – entlang ( along )
D – durch ( through )
F – für ( for )
What does it mean if the prepositions are in the Akkusativ case? That means that the noun next to it will
also change to Akkusativ form.
AKKUSATIVE CASE
Masculine Feminine Neuter Plural
Example:
1. I am eating an apple.
Ich esse einen Apfel.
- I am eating what? Apple. That is why it is in akkusative form. The gender of the apple is
masculine. That is why ein becomes einen.
Example :
I love you.
Ich liebe dich.
-I love WHO? You. You is now in Akkusativ form because again it answers the question
who. That is why instead of saying Ich liebe du, you say Ich liebe dich.
