unterbrochen.

The Simatic S7-300 is a modular PLC system from Siemens intended for
industrial use. In order to be used in education and further training, the
PLC has been integrated into a didactic environment in experimental
board (A4 format) and can be fitted into an experimental frame or used
as a desk-top unit. The inputs and outputs are led out on 4 mm safety
jacks.
Function Certain modules were selected from the range of modules in the S7-300
series and integrated into the experimental board unit. This means that
the modularity of the PLC is also available to the trainer.
The 4 mm safety jacks are suitable for connecting sensors and actuators
via 4 mm safety plugs.
Using the SysLink interface from Festo Didactic, it is possible to connect
further units with the same interface.
The S7 EduTrainer is connected to the PC via the MPI interface on the
CPU and programmed using STEP 7 software (IEC 1131).
Expansion of the A reserve section is exchanged for a simulation section and the Simatic
EduTrainers module is connected via the bus connector.
The device must be isolated from the mains and all connected electrical
circuits.
In order to do this, first remove the red cover (6 screws). Dismantle the
corresponding number of reserve plates (by undoing the 4 screws for
each unit) and replace them with simulation plates. Attach the 10-pin
connection cables to the simulation plates. These cables are fed to the
front of the panels through the slots in the front panel. The two white
cables with a 4.8 mm FASTON plug-in connector are used to connect the
simulation plates to L+ and 0 V.
The Simatic module is connected to the controller by means of a bus
plug and secured to the profile rail with a screw. The supplied module
adapter is then plugged into the Simatic module and connected via the
10-pin cable.
Reassemble the device.
Inputs/outputs The inputs and outputs of the Simatic modules are wired to modular
simulation plates using safety jacks and, if necessary, momentary-
contact or maintained-contact switches, for the purpose of conducted
input simulations. This is realised byte by byte. As such, the upper
inputs/outputs of the first module are connected to the first simulation
plate, and the lower to the second simulation plate, etc.
On the Festo Didactic SysLink plug, 16 digital inputs and 16 digital
outputs of the PLC are wired to two Centronics plugs parallel to the
simulation plates; each plug is connected to 8 inputs and 8 outputs.
Analogue inputs and outputs are likewise run parallel to the simulation
plates via a 15-pin Submin-D plug.

Emergency stop function You must bridge the jacks labelled L+ and 24 V with the supplied
shorting plug to ensure voltage supply to the output modules of the
I/O modules.
If the emergency stop function is integrated, you must connect the
emergency stop device (N.C. contacts) to these jacks. When operating
the normally closed contacts, the voltage supply to the I/O modules is
interrupted.
