5.3 Report of test result

Unless otherwise specified, the worst value of three tests shall be reported as the test
result.

5.4 Appearance
Visually evaluate the appearance of paint film under a specified lighting.
Inspection method: Test specimen shall be viewed from distance 250 - 300 mm by
eyesight 0.8 min.
Lighting: Scattering daylight
The ray of light coming from northern window to the location 1,000 mm above
floor, free of direct sunshine, during the time from 3 hours after sunrise to 3
hours before sunset.
Illumination: Illumination should be 500 lx min. to the effective plane uniformly.

5.5 Hiding power

Paint so that the paint film thickness may change on the Morest hiding chart specified in
ISO 6504-3 (Method B) or JIS K 5600-4-1 (Method B) and bake the painted Morest hiding
chart by the process condition.
Thereafter compare the brightness between white area and black area.
Criteria: It shall not be observed the difference of brightness between white area and
black area visually.

5.6 Color tone

5.6.1 Appearance
Visually evaluate in accordance with ISO 3668 or JIS K 5600-4-3.
Inspection method: Test specimen shall be viewed from distance 250 - 300 mm by

above floor, free of direct sunshine, during the time from 3 hours after
sunrise to 3 hours before sunset.
Illumination: Illumination should be 500 lx min. to the effective plane uniformly.

5.6.2 Color difference (ΔE*)

Cut urethane material used for seat into 1 cm cubes. Transfer 25 g of the above cubes to
a 3 liters wide-mouth bottle equipped with cap. Place the test specimen 40×50 mm into
the bottle with its coated surface upward so as not to come in contact with the urethane
cubes. Close the cap and place the bottle in a cabinet at 80±2°C for 22 hours.
After removing the test specimen, wipe the surface with 10 double passes of gauze, which
is soaked into water, with a load of 4.9 N. 26
