1.3 Lieferumfang
I/O-Signale.

by qualified personnel with consideration of the necessary safety
precautions.

The iBox is not shipped with any additional accessories, but only with this installation manual
German/English.
The iBox is used to adapt a Laetus scanning head (COSI 221, LLS 5x0, COCAM 700) to the
wt-System. The iBox converts the serial line interface to the wt-System Ethernet and provides
the operation panel used with the Laetus NAVIGATOR. Additionally the iBox operates as a
junction box for all scanning head and iBox electrical signals. Integrated control LED’s allow to
monitor the state of the switching I/O signals
The iBox housing is designed for standard EN rail mounting and operates with 24 V DC
power. The iBox allows to connect all signals via terminal blocks. While mounted in a control
cabinet the connection of power to multiple aBox and switching I/O signals to a PLC is very
easy. The iBox is protected against wrong connection by a diode.
The iBox provides with six opto-isolated open collector outputs and two opto-isolated inputs.
The state of the iput signal gate is passed directly to the gate output signal connection.
For connection of the wt-System Ethernet a standard RJ45 connector can be used.
A 15 pin HD-D Sub connector is used for connection of the scanning head.
Die scanning head type LLS 5x0 and COCAM 700 must be connected via an
adapter plug. If the adapter plug is not used, iBox and scanning head may be
destroyed.

The iBox can be mounted to an EN mounting rail. See following figure how to touch down the
iBox at the EN mounting rail. Several boxes may be mounted directly side by side.
For removing the iBox the interlocking device must be pulled and aBox tilt as shown.

Hint!
The terminal block assignment is compatible to other xBox type like aBox 2D-COSI 820 oe
aBox BCAM 600. Some fuctional signal are not provided by the aBox type.
The aBox type do not provide the opto isolation of the i/O signals. If the
connection pins 12/13 are bridged between iBox and aBox the opt isolation is
not available any more.

wt Control Device
The iBox is nearly maintenance free, and is limited to monitor the buffered RASM function
(battery) or a required software update.
The battery has a lifetime of approx. 8 years (iBox always switched off), in the normal
operation a substantially higher lifetime can be expected.
Incorrect counter stands iBox after switching on are an indication for an empty battery. In this
case the battery should be checked and changed if necessary. For the change of the battery
the housing must be opened, we recommend to process these work only by accordingly
rained personnel.
Battery type - Lithium 3V CR 2032 The battery is equipped in a socket.
The iBox software was checked for correct function with the below described combinations.
Other combinations may result in a malfunction.
