Sicherungskopie der Compact-Flash -
Karte unter R-Linux erstellen
Die gesamte SPS-Software mit Betriebssystem für
die Steuerung der ChromoJET-Anlage ist auf einer
Compact-Flash - Karte (CF-Karte) gespeichert und
wird auch von dieser Karte ausgeführt.
Für die Betriebssicherheit und die schnelle Behe-
bung eines auftretenden Software- oder Lesefehlers
ist es erforderlich dass der gesamte Inhalt der CF-
Karte regelmäßig (monatlich oder nach Updates /
Änderungen) auf eine identische CF-Karte gesichert
wird.
Die Datensicherung wird unter dem Dateimanager R-
Linux erstellt welcher ebenfalls auf dem Industrie-PC
der ChromoJET installiert ist.
Voraussetzungen
• Die ChromoJET-Anlage befindet sich nicht im
Druckbetrieb.
• Die Stromversorgung ist hergestellt.
• Der Industrie-PC ist eingeschaltet, das Windows-
Betriebssystem ist gestartet.
• Eine weitere leere, technisch identische CF-Karte
steht ebenfalls zur Verfügung.
• Sie haben auf der lokalen Festplatte oder auf
einem USB-Stick ein Verzeichnis für die
Zwischenspeicherung angelegt, z.B. das
Verzeichnis /CF-COPY.
• Der verfügbare freie Speicherplatz auf der Fest-
platte oder auf dem USB-Stick muss größer sein
als die Kapazität der CF-Karte (2 GB).
Schritte
Starten Sie R-Linux durch Doppelklick auf
dieses Symbol oder über einen sonstigen Link
zum Programm.
Daten von der CF-Karte kopieren
Klicken Sie in R-Linux mit der rechten Maus-
taste auf die CF-Karte.
Klicken Sie im neuen Popup-Fenster mit der
linken Maustaste auf View/Edit ....

Creating a safety backup of the Compact
Flash card using R-Linux
The complete PLC software with operating system
for operating the ChromoJET printer is stored on a
Compact-Flash card (CF card) and is also executed
from this card.
For safe operation and for the quick remedy of a
possibly appearing software or reading fault it is
necessary to backup the complete contents of the CF
card on a regular basis (once a month or after
updates / changes) to an identical CF card.
The backup is being generated using the R-Linux file
manager, which is also installed on the ChromoJET
printer’s industrial computer.
Conditions
• The ChromoJET line is currently not in printing
operation.
• Power supply is established.
• The industrial PC is running, the Windows
operating system has been started.
• An additional CF card (empty, technically identical)
is also available.
• On the local harddisk or on an USB you have
created a folder for temporary storage, e.g. a folder
called /CF-COPY.
• The available free space on the harddisk or on the
USB stick must be larger than the capacity of the
CF card (2 GB).
Steps
Start R-Linux by double-clicking on this
symbol or by using a different link for this
program.
Copy data from the CF card
In the R-Linux file manager click on the CF
card with the right mouse button.
In the appearing pop-up window click on
View/Edit … with the left mouse button.

Drücken Sie jetzt die Tastenkombination Strg + A;
dadurch werden alle Daten mit türkiser Hinter-
grundfarbe markiert.
Klicken Sie in der Menüleiste auf Tools und im
neuen Dropdown-Fenster auf Save to file ...
Wählen Sie jetzt das vorher angelegte Zwischen-
speicher-Verzeichnis auf der lokalen Festplatte oder
auf dem USB-Stick aus und klicken Sie dann auf
STORE.
Der Kopiervorgang dauert je nach Datenmenge und
PC-Leistung mindestens 5 Minuten, im Extremfall
auch mehr als eine Stunde.
Nachdem der Kopiervorgang erfolgreich abge-
schlossen wurde entnehmen Sie die Original CF-
Karte aus dem Kartenleser und bewahren sie
geschützt auf.
Stecken Sie jetzt die Sicherungskarte in den
Kartenleser und überprüfen Sie mit dem Windows-
Dateimanager dass sie keinerlei wichtige Daten
enthält.
Stellen Sie an dieser Stelle sicher
dass Sie die richtige Sicherungs-CF-
Karte verwenden!

The contents of the CF card will be displayed like
this:
Press key combination Strg + A; this will highlight all
data using turquoise background color.
In the menu items row click on Tools and in the new
dropdown window click on Save to file …
Now select the folder for temporary storage that you
have created before on the local harddisk or on the
USB stick, then click on STORE.
Depending on the data quantity and on the computer
performance, the copying process will take at least 5
minutes, in an extreme case it may even take more
than an hour.
After the copying process has been terminated
successfully you remove the original CF card from
the card reader and store it in a safe place.
Now enter the backup CF card into the card reader
and verify with the Windows Explorer file manager
that this card does not contain any important data.
Make sure at this step that you
are using the proper backup CF
card!

Formatieren Sie die CF-Karte mit der Formatier-
Funktion des Windows-Dateimanagers.
Wechseln Sie zu R-Linux und schalten Sie den
Schreibschutz des Kartenlesers aus:
Mit rechter Maustaste auf das Laufwerk klicken, dann
im Dropdown-Fenster auf Enable Write und die
folgende Sicherheitsabfrage mit OK bestätigen.
Kopierte Daten zurückschreiben:
Markieren Sie in R-Linux wie oben beschrieben das
Laufwerk des Kartenlesers für die CF-Karte und
klicken Sie im Dropdown-Fenster auf View / Edit .,..

Format the CF card with the formatting function of
the Windows Explorer file manager.
Change to the R-Linux program and disable the
write protection of the card reader:
Click on the drive with the right mouse button, then
select the Enable Write function in the dropdown
window, then confirm the safety query with OK.
Write back the copied data:
Mark the drive of the card reader for the CF card
inside the R-Linux file manager as described above,
and in the dropdown window select the View / Edit
… menu item.

Mit Strg + A markieren Sie den gesamten Inhalt der
neu formatierten CF-Karte.
Schalten Sie wie oben beschrieben den Schreib-
schutz für dieses Laufwerk ab (Tools - Enable write
und Sicherheitsabfrage mit OK bestätigen).
Klicken Sie jetzt auf Tools - Load from File ...
und gehen Sie dann in R-Linux in das lokale
Verzeichnis mit der gespeicherten Datenkopie.
Markieren Sie die Datei mit der rechten Maustaste
und klicken Sie dann auf STORE.

Disable the write protection for this drive as
described above (Tools – Enable write and confirm
the safety query with OK).
Now click on Tools - Load from File ...
Then select the local folder with the stored copy of
the data. Select this file with the right mouse button,
then click on STORE.

Der Kopiervorgang dauert je nach Datenmenge und
PC-Leistung mindestens 5 Minuten, im Extremfall
auch mehr als eine Stunde.
Nachdem der Kopiervorgang abgeschlossen wurde
müssen Sie das erfolgreiche Kopieren überprüfen:
• Booten Sie den Industrie-PC mit Hilfe der
kopierten CF-Karte neu.
• Falls das Booten erfolgreich ist und keine
Fehlermeldung erscheint dann wurde die Kopie
korrekt erstellt.
• Falls ein Fehler auftritt erstellen Sie von der
Original-CF-Karte nochmals eine Sicherungs-
kopie bzw. stellen Sie den Grund des Fehlers
fest und beheben Sie ihn (CF-Karte defekt,
Problem mit dem Kartenleser).
• Entnehmen Sie abschließend die CF-Karte mit
der Sicherungskopie aus dem Kartenleser,
bringen Sie einen Hinweis mit dem Speicher-
datum an und bewahren Sie sie geschützt auf.
• Setzen Sie dann wieder die Original - CF-Karte
für den Betrieb ein.
• Die Datensicherung ist abgeschlossen, der
Druckbetrieb kann fortgesetzt werden.

After the copying process has been terminated you
must verify whether it was successful:
• Reboot the industrial PC using the copied CF
card.
• If the boot process is successful and no fault
message is displayed, the copy has been
created successfully.
• If a fault appears you need to make a new safety
backup from the original CF card, or you
determine the cause of the fault and remedy it
(CF card defective, problem at the card reader).
• Finally take the CF card with the safety backup
out of the card reader, attach a label with the
backup date and store it in a safe place.
• Enter the original CF card into the card reader
again.
• The data backup has been completed; printing
operation can resume.
