Technical section:.

1. Spring coils design, fabrication, welding, test and certification shall be in accordance with BS EN 10089
"Hot Rolled Steels For Quenched and Tempered Springs. Technical Delivery Conditions" and
supplemented by DEP 31.38.01.29-Feb.2021 "Pipe Supports", section 3.2.6 Spring Supports.
2. Certificate of compliance for the spring coil and load test report shall be in accordance with BS EN
10204-3.1 type while other parts e.g. spring cans shall be EN 10204-2.2 type.
3. Spring cans and spring unit components to be SS316 suitable for marine environment.
4. Bolts & Nuts shall be ASTM A193 Gr. B8M Cl.2 and A194 Gr. B8M Cl.1.
5. Spring coils to be PTFE coated.
6. All load bearing welds to be 100% magnetic particle tested or dye penetrant tested.
7. All variable effort spring cans shall be weatherproof to prevent the ingress of rain water.
8. All Spring Units shall be supplied pre-set and gauged for the required installed condition.
9. All Spring Units shall be supplied with hydrostatic test stops.
10. All Spring Units, including all associated components, shall be securely tagged with stainless steel
name plates clearly indicating the support identification number.
11. Spring units including pin and whole assembly to enable loads of up to twice the rated capacity of the
support, or the test load specified in datasheet.
12. The Spring Hanger's Drawings (with parts and dimensions) and Calculation Notes to be provided to
design consultant for verification after PO from client. Fabrication shall not start before drawings and
calculation approval.
13. Vendor shall supply the following materials along with springs:

a) Beam attachment/Welding Lug (M38)

b) Eye Rod (M30) (150 mm additional length for Site adjustment)
c) SS316 Witchliner insulated pipe clamp (Fig. 604)
d) Fastener
e) Travel stop and etc.

14. The item a) Beam attachment/Welding Lug (M38) will be attached to the structural steel material ASTM
A36. The material shall be compatible with the structural steel material ASTM A36.
15. Spring hanger shall be provided with position indicator / travel scale.
16. Painting as per BSP-12-STD-09-1.0 (Latest Edition) and final colour to RAL 1021 (YELLOW). Spring
hanger support shall be corrosion resistant.
17. Spring cans and spring unit components shall be designed for continuous 25 years life time span with
zero maintenance requirements. However, if there is any minimum maintenance e.g. greasing/lubrication.
VENDOR to advise the maintenance methodology e.g. greasing port etc, where applicable.
18. All stainless steel welding surfaces shall be treated with acid pickling and passivation in accordance
with the MESC SPE 76/212 (Latest Edition) for forgings and MESC SPE 76/222 (Latest Edition) for plates.
19. The minimum requirement of the Spring Support Installation shall be in accordance with the DEP
31.38.01.29-Gen., section 6.2 "Installation Of Spring Supports". Vendor to submit the
Installation/Operation/Maintenance (IOM) procedure, to specifying the permissible tolerances.
20. Vendor to submit the duly filled SPIR Form, to specify the list of spare parts and special tool (if any) for
4-yearly maintenance/re-calibration work.
