This standard has been prepared by ECISS/TC 30 ‘Steel wires’ (Secretariat: United Kingdom).The respon-
sible German body involved in its preparation was the Normenausschuss Stahldraht und Stahl-
drahterzeugnisse (Steel Wire and Wire Products Standards Committee), Technical Committee Stahldraht.

Amendments
DIN 1548, January 1979 edition, and DIN 51213, December 1970 edition, have been superseded by the
specifications of EN 10244-2.
