Online-Stichprobenbefragung zu Stand, Annahme und Beurteilung von eLearning-Angeboten

an deutschen Hochschulen unter 119 Studierenden im Sommer 2019

Wie hat sich die Meinung von Studierenden an deutschen
Hochschulen zu interaktiven, elektronischen Lehr- und
Lernangeboten (eLearning) seit der ersten Erhebung
im Frühjahr 2018 entwickelt?
Welche Trends sind erkennbar und was ist den Studie-
renden beim eLearning besonders wichtig? Diesen und
ähnlichen Fragen hat sich das Hochschuldidaktik-Team
von Pearson Studium nun bereits zum zweiten Mal im
Rahmen einer Meinungsstichprobe unter 119 Studieren-
den aus ganz Deutschland gewidmet.
Schon in der Online-Studie „eLearning an deutschen Hoch-
schulen aus Sicht der Studierenden“ (2018) wurde deutlich,
welche Form der Lehrangebote Studierende bevorzugen.
Während von Seiten der Politik noch über die Umsetzung
der Digitalisierung an deutschen Hochschulen debattiert
wurde, war den Studierenden bereits klar: Sie möchten auf
jeden Fall mit eLearning-Angeboten arbeiten!
Lehrende standen der Einführung und Nutzung von eLearning-
Angeboten deutlich differenzierter gegenüber – so jeden-
falls der Eindruck der damals befragten Studierenden. Die
neuerlich durchgeführte Onlinebefragung soll nun zeigen,
ob es zu signifikanten Änderungen bei den im letzten Jahr
festgestellten Kennzahlen gekommen ist.
Doch überraschenderweise führt die Stichprobe auch neue,
eher unerwartete Erkenntnisse zutage: So ist zwar klar, dass
mobiles Lernen auch den Einsatz mobiler Geräte erfordert.
Dass Studierende aber gegen den allgemeingesellschaftli-
chen Trend dabei vornehmlich auf mittelgroße „Handhelds“
(so genannte Tablet-PCs) setzen, lässt aufhorchen. Die (fast
schon) totgesagte „Brücke“ zwischen Laptop und Smart-
phone ist für knapp ein Drittel der befragten Studierenden
das Gerät der Wahl beim akademischen eLearning (Q11).
Die Meinungsstichprobe wurde im Sommer 2019 durch das Hochschuldidaktik-Team von Pearson Studium durchgeführt. Die Befragung
erfolgte online und anonym in Form offener Multiple Choice-Fragestellungen. Alle 119 Teilnehmer waren eigenen Angaben nach einge-
schriebene Studierende an deutschsprachigen Hochschulen.

Doch auch die anderen Zahlen sprechen für sich: 87 Prozent
aller befragten Studierenden haben eLearning-Angebote
schon einmal genutzt und ganze 84 Prozent arbeiten regel-
mäßig damit (Q1, Q2). Damit wird deutlich, wie groß das stu-
dentische Interesse an digitalen Lern- und Lehrangeboten ist.
Doch auch die Art der Nutzung verändert sich sichtbar: Lag
der Nutzungsschwerpunkt mit 79 Prozent im Vorjahr noch
auf Nachbereitungen der Vorlesungen, ist fast genau so
vielen Befragten mittlerweile auch die Begleitung von Vor-
lesungen und Seminaren durch die Mittel des eLearnings
wichtig (Q3). Damit zeigt sich: Das eLearning ist in deutschen
Hochschulen angekommen.
Bei der Frage, ob Vorlesungen durch eLearning-Angebote
ersetzt werden könnten, waren sich die Befragten dagegen
überraschend (un-)einig. Zwar sehen sie in der zeitlichen
und örtlichen Ungebundenheit große Vorteile gegenüber
einer terminierten Vorlesung. Allerdings legen viele Stu-
dierende gleichzeitig großen Wert auf die Interaktion mit
Dozenten und ihren Kommilitonen (Q7). Durch den aktiven
Austausch in Vorlesungen und Seminaren auf persönlicher
Ebene schaffe jeder Studiengang individuelle Erinnerungen
an Studienzeit und -verlauf. Genau diese Eindrücke und
Erlebnisse eines jeden Studierenden gelte es – trotz eLear-
ning-Angeboten – zu erhalten. So jedenfalls der allgemeine
Tenor bei der frei ausfüllbaren Begründung, warum man
sich ggf. doch nicht vorstellen könnte, Präsenzveranstaltun-
gen komplett durch digitale Angebote zu ersetzen.
Ebenfalls interessant: Nach Meinung der befragten Studie-
renden kommt es auch auf Seiten der Lehrenden zuneh-
mend zu einem digitalisierungsfreundlichen Umdenken.
Denn im Gegensatz zum Vorjahr (2018: knapp 30 %) attes-
tieren die Befragten nun immerhin bereits jedem
